Setup and Installation

The YIMU WX8310D system is designed for easy DIY installation with zero wiring or drilling required for the camera. A screwdriver is typically the only tool needed.

Monitor Installation

The monitor can be installed in two ways: on the windshield or on the dashboard using the provided suction mount.

  1. Attach the suction mount to the back of the monitor.
  2. Choose a suitable location on your windshield or dashboard that does not obstruct your view.
  3. Secure the suction mount firmly to the chosen surface.
  4. Connect the monitor to your vehicle's cigarette lighter outlet using the car charger.

Camera Installation (License Plate Frame)

The solar camera is integrated into a license plate frame for easy mounting.

  1. Remove your vehicle's rear license plate using a screwdriver.
  2. Place the YIMU solar camera license plate frame behind your license plate, aligning the screw holes.
  3. Re-attach your license plate using the original screws, securing it through the camera frame.
  4. Ensure the camera lens is clear and unobstructed.

Initial Pairing and Power-On

Before first use, ensure the camera and monitor are paired and powered on.

  1. Connect the monitor to the cigarette lighter outlet. Press the switch button on the adapter to turn it on/off, or wave your hand close to the monitor's gesture sensor.
  2. To activate the camera, open the waterproof plug at the bottom of the camera unit. Press the micro switch inside with your hand (or a small tool like a SIMM chip remover, if provided). The bottom LED light should flash blue slowly, indicating it's on.
  3. Once the monitor is powered on and the camera is activated, the monitor should display an image, and the LED light on the camera should be solid blue, indicating a normal connection.
  4. If pairing is needed (LED flashes quickly), press the micro switch three times to enter matching mode.

Operating Instructions

Monitor Operation

  • Power On/Off: Wave your hand in front of the monitor's gesture control sensor to turn it on or off. Alternatively, use the switch on the cigarette lighter adapter.
  • Automatic Mode: When reversing, the camera will automatically activate and display for 30s/45s/60s/90s (selectable) before turning off.
  • Manual Mode: In this mode, you can manually turn the camera on/off using the gesture sensor.
  • Zoom Function: The monitor supports 0.5X zoom to magnify images.
  • Multi-Camera Support: If you have a second camera, you can switch between camera channels.

Settings Adjustment

Access the monitor's menu to adjust various settings:

  • Image Orientation: Switch between "normal" and "mirror" modes to match camera installation (front or rear).
  • Display Settings: Adjust contrast, brightness, and other visual parameters.
  • Reversing Line: Customize the width of the reversing line, move it up/down, or disable it.

Charging the Camera

The YIMU WX8310D camera offers flexible charging options:

  • Solar Charging: The integrated solar panel charges the camera battery when exposed to sunlight. Ensure the panel receives adequate sunlight for optimal charging.
  • USB Type-C Charging: For situations with insufficient sunlight (e.g., cold, rainy days, or prolonged indoor storage), use the provided USB Type-C cable to charge the camera. The charging port is located at the bottom of the license plate frame.
  • Car Charger: The camera can also be charged using a car charger.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the camera lens and monitor screen with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear visibility. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Solar Panel: Keep the solar panel clean and free of dirt, snow, or debris to maximize charging efficiency.
  • Battery Health: While the camera is designed for solar charging, if stored for long periods without sunlight, ensure to charge it via USB-C periodically to maintain battery health.
  • Weather Protection: The camera is IP69K waterproof, but extreme temperatures outside the operating range (-22°F to 176°F) should be avoided if possible.

Troubleshooting

  • Dirty camera lens.
  • Poor signal.
  • Low light conditions.
  • Clean the camera lens.
  • Ensure antenna is properly connected to the monitor.
  • The camera has enhanced low-light performance, but extreme darkness may still affect clarity.
