4. Setup
4.1 Assembly
The paint sprayer is designed for easy assembly and disassembly without tools. Attach the container to the main spray gun body by aligning and twisting until secure. Ensure the quick release lock is engaged.
Video 4.1: How to assemble the PSG0082. This video demonstrates the simple steps to put together your paint sprayer, including attaching the paint container and securing the quick release lock.
4.2 Paint Preparation and Nozzle Selection
Proper paint preparation is crucial for optimal spraying results. Dilute your paint as needed to achieve a viscosity suitable for spraying. Use the included viscosity cup to test the paint's consistency. The maximum recommended viscosity is 150-Dins. Filter the diluted paint using the provided filter paper cups to prevent clogging.
Select the appropriate nozzle size (1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, or 3.0mm) based on the material you are spraying and the desired finish. Smaller nozzles provide a finer finish, while larger nozzles allow for higher spray volume.
| Nozzle Size | Recommended Material | Project | Recommended Spraying Viscosity |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.5mm | Sealants, stains, enamel, varnish, dyes | Table, chair, bicycle, shutter, cabinets, wooden toy, model | 30Din-s |
| 2.0mm | Polyurethane, chalk and milk type paint | Railings, multi-frame window frames, heating pipes, boats, yard furniture, garage doors, garden fences | 40Din-s |
| 2.5mm | Low viscosity primer, wall paint | Internal wall, wooden garden fence, wooden pile, corridor | 50Din-s |
| 3.0mm | Latex plus primers, primer, wall paint, latex, oil enamels | External walls, outdoors, deck | 70~80Din-s |
Notes:
- Never try spraying material with viscosity higher than the spray gun can withstand (MAX 150-DINS).
- The smaller the size, the finer and higher the surface quality; the larger the size, the shorter the time consumption.
- Dilute material if needed for better quality of the coating.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Spraying Techniques
The PHALANX paint sprayer offers three adjustable spray patterns: horizontal, vertical, and round. Adjust the nozzle cap to switch between patterns. For best results, hold the spray gun straight in front of the surface and avoid flexing your wrist to ensure even coverage.

5.2 Flow Control and Power Adjustment
Adjust the power from 270W (MIN) to 700W (MAX) using the power pressure control knob to achieve excellent spray results and wider coverage. The flow control knob allows for precise output and material savings.

6. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the lifespan of your paint sprayer and ensure consistent performance.
6.1 Cleaning After Use
The paint sprayer can be easily disassembled for cleaning. After each use, unplug the unit, pour any remaining material back into its original container, and completely disassemble the spray gun. Wash all parts thoroughly with water (for water-based paints) or appropriate cleaning solution (for oil-based paints). Use the provided cleaning brush and needle to clear any hardened paint from nozzles and internal components. Ensure all parts are dry before reassembling.

7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your PHALANX paint sprayer, consider the following common solutions:
- Uneven Spray/Splattering: Check paint viscosity. It might be too thick. Dilute further and re-test. Ensure the nozzle is clean and free of clogs.
- No Spray/Low Pressure: Verify the power cord is securely plugged in. Check if the nozzle or suction tube is clogged. Ensure the paint container is properly sealed and the quick release lock is engaged. Inspect the air filter for blockages.
- Excessive Overspray: Adjust the flow control knob to a lower setting. Ensure you are holding the sprayer at the recommended distance from the surface.
- Paint Dripping: This can occur if the paint is too thin or if the sprayer is held too close to the surface. Adjust paint consistency or spraying distance.
