4. Installation Instructions

Follow these steps to install your new Anmumu water filter:

  1. Remove Old Filter: Carefully remove the old water filter from its holder in the water tank of your Breville espresso machine.
  2. Prepare New Filter: Unwrap a new Anmumu filter. It is crucial to pre-soak the new filter in clean water for approximately 5-10 minutes to allow it to absorb water fully and to rinse off any loose charcoal particles. You may observe some charcoal color in the water during the initial rinse; continue rinsing until the water runs clear.
  3. Insert into Holder: Place the prepared filter into the filter holder. Ensure it is seated correctly and securely.
  4. Install Holder: Reinsert the filter holder with the new filter into the water tank of your espresso machine. Make sure it clicks into place or is firmly secured according to your machine's specific design.
  5. Reset Indicator (if applicable): If your machine has a filter replacement indicator, reset it according to your Breville machine's user manual.

5. Operating Principles

The Anmumu water filter operates by passing water through multiple layers of filtration material, primarily activated charcoal. This process removes dissolved impurities, chlorine, and other substances that can affect the taste of your coffee and contribute to scale buildup in your machine. By using filtered water, you ensure that only clean, fresh water is used for brewing, resulting in a better-tasting beverage and a healthier machine.

6. Maintenance and Replacement

For optimal filtration results and to maintain the performance of your espresso machine, it is recommended to replace the Anmumu water filter regularly.

  • Replacement Frequency: Replace the filter every 30 days or after 30 tank refills, whichever comes first.
  • Storage: Store unused, individually wrapped filters in a cool, dry place.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues, consider the following:

  • Charcoal Residue: If you notice charcoal particles in your water after installation, it indicates insufficient rinsing. Remove the filter, rinse it thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear, and then reinstall.
  • Poor Coffee Taste: If your coffee taste deteriorates, it may be time to replace the filter, even if the recommended period hasn't passed, especially if you use your machine frequently. Also, consider descaling your espresso machine as per its manufacturer's instructions.
  • Filter Fit: Ensure the filter is correctly seated in its holder and the holder is properly installed in the water tank. A loose fit can bypass the filtration system.
