Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the devices to ensure optimal performance and longevity. These radios are designed for reliable communication in various environments, offering features such as long-range transmission, NOAA weather alerts, and hands-free operation.

3. Product Overview
The Topsung FRS Two-Way Radios are designed for ease of use and durability. Each unit features a compact design with robust ABS material for drop protection. Key components include an antenna, volume knob, backlit LCD display, PTT button, Call/Lock button, NOAA/Scan button, Menu/Power button, Up/Down buttons, microphone, and speaker.

4. Setup and Installation
4.1. Battery Installation
- Ensure the walkie talkie is powered off.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
- Push the clip upwards to release the cover and remove it.
- Connect the battery's small plug to the corresponding socket inside the compartment.
- Insert the 1800mAh Lithium Polymer battery into the compartment, ensuring proper orientation.
- Replace the battery compartment cover and push the clip downwards until it locks securely.

4.2. Charging the Batteries
The walkie talkies come with a 3-in-1 USB charging cable, allowing simultaneous charging of multiple units. A full charge takes approximately 3 hours and provides up to 72 hours of standby time.
- Connect the USB-A end of the charging cable to a USB power adapter (included) or a compatible USB port (e.g., PC, car charger, power bank).
- Plug the small charging connectors into the charging port located on the side of each walkie talkie (under the rubber flap).
- The charging indicator on the walkie talkie's screen will show charging status.
- Once fully charged, disconnect the cable.

4.3. Attaching Lanyards and Belt Clips
For convenient carrying, attach the provided lanyards or belt clips.
- Lanyard: Thread the thin loop of the lanyard through the small hole at the top of the walkie talkie, near the antenna. Secure the lanyard by passing the larger part through the loop.
- Belt Clip: Slide the belt clip onto the designated slot on the back of the walkie talkie until it clicks into place.

5. Basic Operation
5.1. Power On/Off and Volume
- To power on/off, rotate the volume knob clockwise/counter-clockwise until you hear a click.
- Adjust the volume by rotating the same knob.
5.2. Channel Selection
The radios operate on 22 FRS (Family Radio Service) channels. All radios in your group must be on the same channel and privacy code to communicate.
- Press the MENU button once. The channel number will flash on the LCD screen.
- Use the Up or Down arrow buttons to select your desired channel (1-22).
- Press PTT (Push-To-Talk) button to confirm and save the channel.
5.3. Transmitting and Receiving
- To transmit, press and hold the PTT button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone.
- Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and listen for a response.
- The radio will automatically receive transmissions when not transmitting.
6. Advanced Features
6.1. Privacy Codes (CTCSS/DCS)
Each of the 22 channels can be combined with 121 privacy codes (38 CTCSS and 83 DCS codes) to minimize interference from other users. This ensures clearer communication within your group.
- Press the MENU button twice. The privacy code will flash.
- Use the Up or Down arrow buttons to select your desired privacy code (01-121).
- Press PTT to confirm and save the code.
6.2. NOAA Weather Alert
Stay informed about weather conditions with integrated NOAA Weather Alerts. This feature allows you to receive real-time weather broadcasts and emergency alerts.
- Press the NOAA/Scan button (labeled ESC in some regions) to activate the weather scan function.
- The radio will scan through 10 NOAA weather channels.
- Press the button again to exit weather mode.

6.3. iVOX (Voice-Activated Transmission)
The iVOX feature enables hands-free communication, allowing you to transmit by speaking into the microphone without pressing the PTT button. This is ideal for activities where your hands are occupied.
- Press the MENU button multiple times until "VOX" appears on the screen.
- Use the Up or Down arrow buttons to select the sensitivity level (1-3, with 3 being most sensitive) or "OF" to turn off iVOX.
- Press PTT to confirm.
6.4. Keypad Lock
To prevent accidental changes to settings, you can lock the keypad.
- Long-press the Call/Lock button until a lock icon appears on the screen.
- To unlock, long-press the Call/Lock button again.
6.5. Flashlight
A built-in flashlight is located at the top of the radio for convenience in low-light conditions.
- Press the dedicated flashlight button on the side of the radio to turn it on/off.
- Note: Continuous use of the flashlight will reduce battery life.

7. Range and Performance
The effective communication range of your walkie talkies can vary significantly based on terrain, obstructions, and atmospheric conditions. The stated maximum range of 5 miles is achievable under ideal conditions (e.g., clear line of sight, open water).
- Mountain to Valley: Over 5 miles (ideal conditions).
- Open Water: Ideal 3-5 miles.
- Neighborhood/Urban: Up to 1.5 miles (reduced due to buildings and other obstructions).
For optimal range, ensure a clear line of sight between radios. Obstacles like buildings, dense foliage, and metal structures can significantly reduce transmission distance.
