1. Introduction

The AWAIR Element is an advanced indoor air quality monitor designed to provide real-time insights into your home or office environment. It tracks key air quality parameters to help you understand and improve the air you breathe.

This device monitors the following five critical factors:

• Temperature: Measures the ambient air temperature.
• Humidity: Measures the moisture content in the air.
• Carbon Dioxide (CO2): Detects levels of carbon dioxide, an indicator of ventilation.
• Total Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs): Identifies various chemicals released from common household products and materials.
• Particulate Matter (PM2.5): Monitors fine inhalable particles that can affect respiratory health.

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Device Placement

For accurate readings, place the AWAIR Element in a central location within the room you wish to monitor. Avoid placing it near windows, vents, or direct heat sources, as these can affect sensor accuracy.

3.2 Powering On

1. Connect the USB-C power cable to the AWAIR Element.
2. Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
3. The device will power on automatically. A blinking blue LED indicates it is ready for setup.

3.3 App Installation and Connection

The AWAIR Element requires the AWAIR Home app for full functionality and data viewing. Ensure your smartphone has Bluetooth enabled and is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

1. Download the "Awair Home" app from your device's app store (available for iOS and Android).
2. Open the app and create an account or log in.
3. Follow the in-app instructions to add your AWAIR Element. The app will use Bluetooth to discover the device and guide you through connecting it to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
4. Once connected, the device's LED will turn solid green, and air quality data will begin to appear in the app.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Understanding Your Readings

The AWAIR Element displays a simplified air quality score on its front panel and detailed readings in the AWAIR Home app. The app provides real-time data for each monitored parameter.

4.2 Interpreting Data and Actionable Insights

The AWAIR Home app provides not only raw data but also actionable feedback and tips to improve your indoor air quality. For example, if VOC levels are high, the app might suggest improving ventilation or using natural cleaning solutions.

4.3 Historical Data and Trends

The app allows you to track air quality changes over time, view daily averages, and identify trends. This helps in understanding patterns and the effectiveness of any changes made to your environment.

4.4 Smart Home Integration

The AWAIR Element can be integrated with smart home systems such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control and automated actions based on air quality data.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your AWAIR Element, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Gently wipe the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these can damage the sensors or casing.
• Sensor Care: Avoid obstructing the sensor openings. Do not insert any objects into the device.
• Environment: Keep the device in a stable indoor environment, away from extreme temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight.

6. Troubleshooting

• Device Not Connecting to Wi-Fi:
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. The AWAIR Element does not support 5 GHz networks.
  • Verify your Wi-Fi password is correct.
  • Move the device closer to your Wi-Fi router.
  • Restart your router and the AWAIR Element.
• App Not Detecting Device During Setup:
  • Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
  • Ensure the AWAIR Element is powered on and showing a blinking blue LED.
  • Try force-closing and relaunching the AWAIR Home app.
  • Restart your smartphone.
• Inaccurate Readings:
  • Check device placement (refer to Section 3.1).
  • Allow the device to operate for at least 24-48 hours after initial setup for sensors to calibrate.
  • Ensure no strong odors, chemicals, or drafts are directly affecting the device.
