1. Introduction

The Donner Lax Comp Compressor Pedal is an analog effects unit designed for electric guitar and bass. It provides classic peak limiter style compression with versatile tone shaping capabilities, including a 2-band EQ boost effect. 2. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Donner Lax Comp Compressor Pedal:

1. Power Connection: Connect a standard 9V DC power adapter (center negative, 50mA minimum, not included) to the DC 9V input jack on the top of the pedal.
2. Input Connection: Connect your guitar or bass to the "IN" jack on the right side of the pedal using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
3. Output Connection: Connect the "OUT" jack on the left side of the pedal to your amplifier or the next pedal in your signal chain using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.

3. Operating Instructions

The Lax Comp pedal features four control knobs and a two-way toggle switch to shape your compressed tone.

3.1. Control Knobs

• Sustain: Adjusts the compression ratio and increases sustain. As your signal decays, it will increase volume to create longer sustain.
• Attack: Adjusts how fast the compressor recovers from louder signals. A faster attack allows more of the initial transient through, while a slower attack compresses the initial transient more.
• Level: Adjusts the final output volume of the compressor. At the 12 o'clock position, the input and output volume are balanced.
• Limit: Controls the size of the input signal going into compression and generates limiting effects.

3.2. Tone Switch

The toggle switch allows selection between two distinct tonal modes:

• Natural: This mode utilizes the original circuit, maintaining the original input and output tone consistency.
• Bright: This mode adds high frequencies to the signal, catering to users who prefer crisp and bright tones, often desired for funky styles.

3.3. True Bypass

The pedal features true bypass circuitry. When the pedal is disengaged (effect off), the signal passes directly through the pedal without any coloration or degradation, preserving your instrument's natural tone.

4. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the pedal's exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish.
