Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Instant Pot Duo Plus.
- Inner Pot: The stainless-steel inner pot is dishwasher-safe. For stubborn food residue, soak with warm, soapy water before cleaning.
- Lid: The lid is dishwasher-safe. Remove the sealing ring and steam release valve before washing. Ensure all components are dry before reassembling.
- Sealing Ring: Inspect the silicone sealing ring for cracks or damage regularly. Replace if necessary (recommended every 12-18 months).
- Steam Release Valve & Float Valve: Remove and clean these components after each use to prevent blockages.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the cooker base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water or any other liquid. The fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel sides make cleaning easy.
- Condensation Collector: Empty and clean the condensation collector located at the back of the cooker base regularly.
6. Troubleshooting
- "Burn" Message: This indicates that the inner pot is too hot or there isn't enough liquid. Add more liquid, deglaze the bottom of the pot, or ensure food is not stuck to the bottom.
- Pressure Not Building: Check if the lid is properly sealed and locked. Ensure the steam release handle is in the 'Sealing' position. Verify the sealing ring is correctly installed and not damaged.
- Steam Leaking from Lid: This often indicates an improperly seated sealing ring or food debris on the sealing ring. Clean and re-seat the ring.
- Float Valve Not Rising: Ensure there is sufficient liquid in the inner pot for pressure to build. Check for any obstructions around the float valve.
- Food Undercooked: Increase cooking time or ensure proper pressure level was selected. Allow for natural pressure release when specified by recipes.
