3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Using the provided screwdriver, open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert one 9V (type 6F22) battery, ensuring correct polarity. (Battery not included)
  4. Close the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

Note: Always use a fresh 9V (6F22) battery for optimal performance. Remove the battery if the device will not be used for an extended period.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

  • To power on the device, press the ON/OFF button. The LCD display will illuminate.
  • To power off the device, press the ON/OFF button again.

4.2 Zero Adjustment (Calibration)

Before each measurement session, it is recommended to perform a zero adjustment to ensure accuracy.

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Hold the device in the air, away from any materials, ensuring the induction probe is not touching anything.
  3. Press the ZERO button. The display should show '0.0' or a value very close to zero. If not, repeat the process.

4.3 Selecting Measurement Gear

The gear knob allows selection of different measurement segments (0-10) which may correspond to different material types or calibration curves. Refer to specific material guidelines if provided separately, or experiment to find the optimal setting for your material.

  • Rotate the Gear Knob to select the desired segment (0-10).

4.4 Taking a Measurement

  1. Perform zero adjustment as described in Section 4.2.
  2. Select the appropriate gear position using the Gear Knob.
  3. Gently press the induction probe against the surface of the material to be tested. Ensure full contact.
  4. The moisture content will be displayed on the LCD within approximately one second.
  5. Record the reading if necessary.
