1. Introduction

The Casio PX-S1100 Privia Digital Piano offers an authentic piano experience in a compact and stylish design. 3. Setup

3.1 Assembling the Stand and Bench

Follow the instructions provided with the adjustable stand and bench to assemble them securely. Ensure all components are tightly fastened for stability.

3.2 Connecting the Sustain Pedal

Locate the sustain pedal input on the rear panel of the PX-S1100. Insert the pedal's cable firmly into this port. The sustain pedal allows for extended note duration, mimicking an acoustic piano's sustain function.

3.3 Powering On

Connect the supplied AC adapter to the DC 12V terminal on the piano's rear panel and then to a power outlet. Alternatively, the PX-S1100 can be powered by 6xAA batteries for portable use. Press the power button located on the top panel to turn the instrument on.

3.4 Initial Bluetooth Connection (WU-BT10)

Insert the WU-BT10 Bluetooth Audio and MIDI adapter into the USB-A port on the rear of the piano. Once inserted, activate Bluetooth on your external device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) and select the PX-S1100 from the list of available devices to establish a wireless connection for audio streaming or MIDI control.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Smart Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard

The PX-S1100 features a Smart Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard designed to replicate the feel of an acoustic grand piano. This includes weighted keys with simulated ebony/ivory textures, providing a natural and responsive playing experience across all 88 keys.

4.2 Sound Tones and Effects

The instrument offers 18 high-quality tones, including a German concert grand piano with enhanced damper and string resonance. Additional tones include various piano variations, electric pianos, organs, strings, vibraphone, and harpsichord. The illuminated touch sensor controls on the top panel allow for easy selection and adjustment of these tones and other functions.

4.3 Bluetooth MIDI and Audio

Utilize the included WU-BT10 Bluetooth adapter to connect wirelessly to your devices. This enables streaming audio through the piano's speakers, playing along with your favorite music, and connecting to Bluetooth LE-compatible MIDI devices and software for expanded creative possibilities. The piano also features powerful DSP algorithms for customizable effects.

4.4 Superior Sound System

The redesigned stereo speaker system delivers clear sound to both the player and the audience, with improved drivers for accurate high and low-end response. Two headphone jacks are available for quiet practice. Four types of Hall Simulation and a unique Surround mode allow you to customize the acoustic environment.

4.5 Portability and Placement

The PX-S1100 is designed for portability, being 43% smaller and weighing under 25 pounds compared to previous Privia models. It can be easily placed on various surfaces like tables, counters, or desks, and offers optional 6xAA battery power for use anywhere.

4.6 External Connectivity

The PX-S1100 includes built-in 1/4" outputs for connecting to amplifiers, PA systems, or audio interfaces. High-resolution USB-MIDI connectivity allows it to function as an 88-key controller for computer-based music production. A USB-A port is also available for recording and playing back MIDI songs and WAV audio files from a connected drive.

4.7 Duet Mode

Engage Duet mode to split the keyboard into two equal pitch ranges, ideal for student-teacher lessons or collaborative playing. The Pan feature in Duet mode supports compatibility with piano lab systems.
