4. Operating Instructions

The Inkbird controller offers various modes and features for optimal irrigation management.

4.1 Automatic Watering Modes

Program your watering schedules using the INKBIRD App. You can set schedules based on:

  • Days of the Week: Select specific days (Mon, Tue, Wed, etc.) for watering.
  • Intervals: Set watering to occur every 'X' number of days.
  • Odd Days: Water on odd-numbered days of the month.
  • Even Days: Water on even-numbered days of the month.

Each zone can be programmed with its own unique schedule. The controller's non-volatile memory will save all settings even if power is lost. The controller supports multiple start times per day for each zone.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Inkbird Smart Sprinkler Controller, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Controller not powering on.No power to the outlet or faulty power adapter.Check the power outlet with another device. Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the controller and the outlet.
"Line Error" displayed on screen or constant beeping. This typically indicates a short circuit or an issue with the wiring to one of the zones or the common wire.

1. Disconnect all zone wires and the common wire from the controller.

2. Reconnect the common wire (CM) first.

3. Reconnect each zone wire one by one, checking if the error reappears after each connection. This will help identify the problematic zone.

4. Inspect the wiring for the problematic zone for any cuts, exposed wires touching, or loose connections. Ensure wires are properly stripped and inserted into the terminals.

5. If a rain sensor is connected, try disconnecting it to see if the error persists.

Zones not watering.Incorrect schedule, rain sensor active, or valve issue.Verify schedules in the app. Check if the rain sensor is active and set to "Obey". Manually test the zone from the app. Inspect the valve for clogs or damage.
Cannot connect to Wi-Fi.Incorrect Wi-Fi password, 5GHz network, or weak signal.Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Double-check the Wi-Fi password. Move the controller closer to the router or consider a Wi-Fi extender.
