3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the keyboard.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert the two included AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2. Bluetooth Pairing

The keyboard can be paired with up to three devices. Follow these steps for initial pairing:

1. Ensure batteries are installed and the keyboard is powered on using the switch on the edge. A green light will flash briefly.
2. On your device (phone, laptop, tablet), enable Bluetooth and begin searching for new devices.
3. On the keyboard, press and hold down one of the Bluetooth channel buttons (1, 2, or 3) for approximately 3-5 seconds. Do not release the button.
4. While holding the button, a solid blue light will illuminate on the keyboard, indicating it is in pairing mode.
5. On your device, select "Targus Bluetooth Keyboard" from the list of available devices.
6. Once connected, you may release the Bluetooth channel button. The blue light will turn off, and the keyboard will be paired.
7. Test the connection by typing in a text field on your device.

4.2. Power Saving Mode

The keyboard is designed with a power-saving feature to conserve battery life. When paired, the keyboard will enter sleep mode after being idle for 30 minutes. To reactivate the keyboard, press any key and wait approximately 3 seconds for it to reconnect. If unpaired, the keyboard will enter sleep mode after 2 minutes.
