Installation Steps (Vertical Ventilation - Way One)
This video provides a detailed guide on how to install the CIARRA 918 Series Range Hood, covering steps for vertical ventilation.
- Unpacking and Preparation: Carefully unpack the range hood. Remove all protective polyfilm from the hood surfaces.
- Marking Positions: Use the provided installation drawing (template) to mark the positions for the air outlet, power connection hole, and fixing screw holes on the underside of your cabinet.
- Cutting Holes: Use appropriate tools (e.g., a punching tool or saw) to cut the marked holes for the air outlet and power connection.
- Install Air Outlet Assembly: Install the air outlet assembly onto the circular air outlet at the back of the cook hood.
- Mounting the Hood: Align the range hood's air ventilation port with the cabinet's ventilation hole. Pass the power cord through the power hole. Use four screws to lock the hood into the corresponding marked positions in the cabinet.
- Install Grease Filters: Re-install the grease filters by aligning them and pushing them into place until they click securely.
Installation Steps (Horizontal Ventilation - Way Two)
For horizontal ventilation, you will need to create a rectangular cutout in the back wall of your cabinet. Refer to the general installation video above for visual guidance on similar steps.
- Marking Positions: Paste the installation drawing to the corresponding position on the back wall of the cabinet and mark the positioning holes with a pencil.
- Drilling Holes: Drill four Ø0.31" holes on the wall for mounting.
- Install Wall Plugs: Install the wall plugs into the drilled holes. (This step can be ignored if the wall is wooden, and screws can be used directly).
- Remove Rectangular Cover: Use a tool to remove the rectangular cover on the back of the range hood before installation.
- Install Outlet Cover: Install the outlet cover on the circular air outlet at the back of the cook hood.
- Mounting the Hood: Use four screws to lock the hood into the corresponding marked positions in the cabinet to fix the cook hood.
- Install Grease Filters: Re-install the grease filters.
Ductwork Connection (Optional for Ducted Mode)
If using ducted mode, connect appropriate ductwork (not supplied) to the hood's air outlet.
This video demonstrates how to connect the ductwork to the range hood's air outlet, ensuring secure and air-tight joints using metal foil duct tape.
Use metal foil duct tape to make joints secure and air-tight.
Operating Instructions
Your CIARRA Range Hood features mechanical push-button controls for easy operation.

The control panel features push buttons for power, fan speeds (Low, Mid, High), and lighting.
Fan Speed Control
- OFF (0): Press to turn off the fan.
- LOW (1): Press for low-speed ventilation, ideal for simmering or light cooking.
- MID (2): Press for medium-speed ventilation, suitable for everyday cooking.
- HIGH (3): Press for high-speed ventilation, recommended for heavy cooking, frying, or strong odors.

The range hood offers three power levels, with an extraction rate up to 200 CFM, effectively removing smoke and odors.
Lighting Control
- LIGHTING: Press to turn the LED lights on or off. The bright LED lights illuminate your cooking area.

The range hood is equipped with energy-efficient LED lights that provide ample illumination for your cooking surface.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your range hood.
Cleaning Grease Filters
The 5-layer aluminum mesh filters effectively trap cooking grease and oil.

The 5-layer aluminum mesh filters are designed to effectively separate grease and fumes, and are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
- Removal: To remove, pull the spring release latch and pull down the filter.
- Cleaning: Clean the filters every 2-4 weeks depending on cooking frequency. They can be washed by hand with warm soapy water or placed in a dishwasher.
- Re-installation: Once dry, slide the filters back into their slots and push up until the latch engages.
Replacing Carbon Filters (for Ductless Mode)
If using the range hood in ductless (recirculating) mode, carbon filters (optional purchase: CACF006) are required to absorb odors. These filters are not washable and must be replaced periodically.
- Removal: Remove the grease filters first. Twist the carbon filter counter-clockwise to remove it from the motor housing.
- Replacement: Install a new carbon filter by aligning it and twisting clockwise to lock it in place.
- Re-install Grease Filters: Re-install the grease filters.
Cleaning Surfaces
Wipe the stainless steel surfaces with a clean cloth dampened with mild detergent or stainless steel cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
