Descaling
Mineral deposits from water can build up in the machine over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.
- Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions (e.g., white vinegar and water, or a commercial descaling agent).
- Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
- Place a large container under the portafilter and steam nozzle.
- Run several brewing cycles (without coffee) until half of the solution has passed through.
- Open the steam knob and let the remaining solution pass through the steam nozzle.
- Turn off the machine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Empty and rinse the water tank thoroughly. Fill with fresh water.
- Run several cycles with fresh water through both the brewing head and steam nozzle to rinse out any descaling solution residue.
