This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your Bialetti New Venus coffee maker. Please read all instructions carefully before first use.
2. Components
Your Bialetti New Venus coffee maker consists of three main parts:
- Lower Chamber (Boiler): Holds the water. Features a patented safety valve.
- Filter Funnel: Holds the ground coffee. Sits inside the lower chamber.
- Upper Chamber (Collector): Collects the brewed coffee. Screws onto the lower chamber.

3. Setup and First Use
Before using your Bialetti New Venus for the first time, it is recommended to wash all components with water only, without detergent. Brew coffee three times and discard the resulting coffee to season the pot and remove any manufacturing residues.
- Unscrew the upper chamber from the lower chamber.
- Remove the filter funnel from the lower chamber.
- Wash all three components thoroughly with warm water. Do not use soap or abrasive materials.
- Dry all parts completely before reassembling.
4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to brew authentic Italian coffee with your Bialetti New Venus:
- Fill the Lower Chamber: Fill the lower chamber with cold water up to the level of the safety valve. Do not exceed this level.

- Insert Filter Funnel: Place the filter funnel into the lower chamber.

- Add Ground Coffee: Fill the filter funnel with ground coffee. Do not tamp the coffee down or press it. Level the coffee gently.

Figure 4: Adding ground coffee to the filter funnel. Ensure not to overpack or tamp the coffee.
- Assemble the Pot: Tightly screw the upper chamber onto the lower chamber. Ensure a secure seal to prevent steam leakage.
- Place on Stovetop: Place the coffee maker on a stovetop over medium heat. If using a gas stove, ensure the flame does not extend beyond the base of the pot. For induction, use a compatible burner.

- Brewing: As the water heats, it will rise through the coffee grounds and into the upper chamber. You will hear a gurgling sound as the coffee brews.
- Serve: Once the upper chamber is full and you hear the gurgling sound, remove the coffee maker from the heat. Your authentic Italian coffee is ready to serve.

5. Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper cleaning ensures the longevity of your coffee maker and the best coffee taste:
- After each use, allow the coffee maker to cool completely.
- Unscrew the upper chamber and remove the filter funnel.
- Discard used coffee grounds.
- Rinse all components thoroughly with warm water.
- IMPORTANT: Do not use detergents, abrasive materials, or place the coffee maker in a dishwasher. This can damage the product and affect the taste of your coffee.
- Dry all parts completely before reassembling and storing. Store disassembled to allow for air circulation.
6. Troubleshooting
- Coffee not brewing or slow brewing: Ensure the pot is tightly screwed together. Check that the coffee grounds are not tamped too tightly, which can restrict water flow.
- Weak coffee: Ensure the filter funnel is adequately filled with coffee grounds. Use a medium-fine grind suitable for moka pots.
- Bitter coffee: This can occur if the coffee brews for too long or at too high a temperature. Use medium heat and remove the pot from the heat source as soon as the coffee finishes brewing (when gurgling stops). Using pre-heated water in the lower chamber can also reduce brewing time and prevent bitterness.
- Water leaking from the side: Ensure the upper and lower chambers are screwed together tightly and the rubber gasket is properly seated and not worn.
