2. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Ion Total PA Live speaker system.

2.1 Unpacking and Components

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure you have the following items:

  • Total PA Live Speaker
  • Microphone and Cable
  • Power Cable
  • Speaker Stand

2.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect the included power cable to the power input on the rear panel of the speaker.
  2. Plug the other end of the power cable into a standard electrical outlet.
  3. Turn on the speaker using the power switch, typically located on the rear panel.

2.3 Microphone Connection

To use the microphone:

  1. Connect the microphone cable to one of the XLR or 1/4" microphone inputs on the rear panel.
  2. Adjust the microphone volume using the dedicated knob on the control panel.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Bluetooth Pairing

To stream music wirelessly from your Bluetooth device:

  1. Ensure the speaker is powered on and in Bluetooth mode (indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon on the display).
  2. On your device, enable Bluetooth and select "ION Total PA Live" from the list of available devices.
  3. Once paired, the Bluetooth icon will be solid, and you can begin streaming audio.

3.2 ION Sound XP App Control

For enhanced control over audio and lighting features:

  1. Download the free ION Sound XP App from your device's app store.
  2. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your Total PA Live speaker.
  3. Use the app to adjust EQ settings, control lighting modes, and manage other speaker functions.

3.3 Party Starter Mode

Activate the Party Starter Mode for dynamic light effects:

  • Press the dedicated 'Lights' button on the control panel or select the Party Starter mode within the ION Sound XP App.
  • The multi-color lights will beat-sync to the music, creating an engaging visual experience.

3.4 Sonic Wide Audio

The Sonic Wide Audio feature enhances sound dispersion:

  • This technology is integrated into the speaker's design to provide premium sound coverage to the front, left, and right of the unit.
  • No specific user action is required to activate this feature; it is part of the speaker's inherent audio performance.

3.5 Wireless Stereo-Link

For a true stereo experience, you can link two Total PA Live speakers wirelessly:

  1. Ensure both speakers are powered on and within range of each other.
  2. Follow the instructions in the ION Sound XP App or refer to the quick start guide for specific pairing steps for Wireless Stereo-Link.
  3. Once linked, audio will play in stereo across both speakers.

3.6 Microphone Echo Effect

4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Ion Total PA Live speaker.

4.1 Cleaning

  • Always disconnect the speaker from the power source before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces.
  • For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, followed by a dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.

4.2 Storage

  • Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If storing for an extended period, ensure the speaker is clean and free of dust.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Ion Total PA Live speaker, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
