Regularly clean the printer's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. For the thermal print head, use a specialized thermal printer cleaning pen or isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab. Ensure the printer is powered off and cooled down before cleaning the print head.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your RIBAO Thermal POS Printer, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the printer and a working power outlet. Check the power switch on the printer.
- No Print Output: Verify that thermal paper is correctly loaded and that the paper roll is not empty. Check the connection to the money counter/coin sorter.
- Garbled or Incorrect Print: Confirm that the baud rate setting on the printer matches the baud rate of the connected device (default is 115200). Refer to Section 4.4 for instructions on checking and setting the baud rate.
- Printer Not Recognized by PC (for baud rate setting): Ensure the USB to RS232 serial cable is properly connected and that the correct drivers are installed for the serial port adapter. Check Device Manager for the assigned COM port.
- Paper Jam: Open the printer lid, carefully remove any jammed paper, and ensure the paper path is clear before reloading.
