4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Drip Tray

The removable drip tray should be cleaned regularly to prevent spills and maintain hygiene. Simply slide out the tray, wash it with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly before reinserting.

4.2 Cleaning the Sealing Area

Wipe the vacuum channel and heat sealing strip with a damp cloth after each use. Ensure no food particles or moisture remain, as this can affect sealing performance. Allow the heat sealing strip to cool down before cleaning.

4.3 Gasket Care

Inspect the foam gaskets regularly for any signs of wear or damage. A clean and intact gasket is crucial for proper vacuum sealing. An extra foam gasket is included for replacement if needed.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your SEATAO VH5188, refer to the common problems and solutions below:

  • Machine does not power on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the machine and the electrical outlet. Check the power outlet for functionality.
  • Bag does not vacuum properly:
    • Check if the bag is properly placed within the vacuum channel.
    • Ensure the bag opening is flat, smooth, and free of wrinkles or food debris.
    • Verify that the lid is securely locked with the handle.
    • Inspect the foam gaskets for any damage or debris that might prevent a proper seal.
  • Bag does not seal:
    • Ensure the heat sealing strip is clean and free of residue.
    • Allow the machine to cool down if it has been used continuously for many cycles (over 200).
    • Check if the correct sealing mode (Dry/Moist/Liquid/Extended) is selected for the food type.
  • Moisture or liquid is drawn into the machine:
    • Always use the 'Liquid' or 'Moist' mode for foods with moisture.
    • Ensure the removable drip tray is in place and empty before use.
    • For very moist foods, consider pre-freezing or placing a paper towel near the seal area to absorb excess liquid.
