Operating Instructions
1. Riding with Lean-to-Steer Technology
The Hurtle ScootKid uses lean-to-steer technology, which means the scooter is steered by leaning the body rather than turning the handlebars directly. This design helps develop balance and coordination.
- Place one foot on the anti-slip deck.
- Push off with the other foot to gain momentum.
- To turn, gently lean your body in the desired direction (left or right). The front wheels will respond to your lean.

2. LED Wheel Lights
The scooter features built-in LED lights in the wheels that illuminate when rolling. No batteries are required for the wheel lights; they are powered by motion.

3. Braking
The scooter is equipped with a rear foot brake. To slow down or stop, gently press your foot down on the brake pad located above the rear wheels.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will extend the life of your Hurtle ScootKid scooter:
- Cleaning: Wipe the scooter with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Periodically check all screws, bolts, and fasteners to ensure they are tight. Inspect the wheels for wear and tear.
- Storage: Store the scooter in a dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The folding mechanism allows for compact storage.
Troubleshooting
- Scooter not steering properly: Ensure the handlebar is securely fastened and that the lean-to-steer mechanism is free of obstructions. Practice leaning gently to control direction.
- LED wheels not lighting up: The LED lights are motion-activated. Ensure the wheels are spinning with sufficient speed. If they still do not light up, check for any debris or damage to the wheel mechanism.
- Loose parts: Regularly check and tighten all screws and bolts. If a part is broken or missing, contact customer support for replacement.
