4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your iMICE E-1700 Wireless Mouse:

1. Install Batteries:
   • Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the mouse (refer to Figure 3.2).
   • Slide the battery cover open in the direction indicated by the "OPEN" arrow.
   • Insert two AAA batteries (not included) into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
   • Close the battery cover securely.
2. Retrieve USB Receiver:
   • The USB receiver is stored in a slot next to the battery compartment (refer to Figure 3.3).
   • Gently pull out the USB receiver.
3. Connect USB Receiver:
   • Plug the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer (desktop PC or laptop).
   • Your operating system (Windows XP, Windows 7, Linux) should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. This is typically a plug-and-play process.
4. Power On the Mouse:
   • Slide the Power ON/OFF switch on the underside of the mouse to the "ON" position.
   • The mouse is now ready for use.

5. Operating Instructions

Basic Functions:

• Left Click: Primary selection and activation.
• Right Click: Opens contextual menus.
• Scroll Wheel: Scrolls documents and web pages vertically. Can also be pressed for middle-click functionality in some applications.
• Side Buttons (Forward/Backward): Navigate web pages or folders.

DPI Adjustment:

The iMICE E-1700 mouse features a "+CPI-" button (refer to Figure 3.1) to adjust the mouse sensitivity (DPI - Dots Per Inch). Press this button to cycle through different DPI settings. A higher DPI setting means the cursor moves faster across the screen with less physical mouse movement, while a lower DPI setting provides more precise control.

Power Saving Mode:

To conserve battery life, the mouse will automatically enter a power-saving sleep mode after a period of inactivity. To wake the mouse, simply move it or click any button.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the mouse. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild cleaning solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the mouse performance degrades or stops responding. Always use fresh batteries of the specified type (AAA).
• Storage: When not in use for extended periods, turn off the mouse using the power switch on the underside to further conserve battery life. You can store the USB receiver in its dedicated slot to prevent loss.
• Environment: Avoid exposing the mouse to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or excessive moisture.
