Setup
1. Battery Installation
Insert the included lithium-ion battery into the battery compartment located on the side of the flash unit. Ensure it clicks securely into place. Charge the battery fully before first use using the provided charger and USB cable.

2. Mounting to Camera
Slide the flash unit onto your Nikon camera's hot shoe. Secure it by pushing the quick-release lock lever forward until it locks into place. To remove, push the lever backward.

Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
Press and hold the power button to turn the flash unit on or off. The LCD screen will illuminate upon power-on.
2. Mode Selection (TTL/Manual/Multi)
Press the "MODE" button to cycle through TTL (Through-The-Lens), Manual (M), and Multi (Stroboscopic) flash modes. A quick switch on the side allows for rapid toggling between TTL and Manual modes.

3. Modeling Light
Press the "MODEL" button to activate the 10-level dimmable LED modeling light. Turn the dial to adjust its brightness. This feature aids in pre-visualizing the light effect before capturing the shot.

4. Exposure Compensation (FEC/FEB)
In TTL mode, press the "+/-" button and turn the dial to adjust the exposure compensation value. Press the setting button to confirm. For Flash Exposure Bracketing (FEB), press the "FEB" button and adjust the bracketing range.

5. Zoom Head Adjustment
Press the "ZOOM" button and turn the dial to adjust the focal distance of the light head from 20mm to 200mm. This can be done automatically or manually to match your lens's focal length.

6. Flexible Shooting Angle
The flash head can swivel from 0° to 330° horizontally and tilt from -7° to 120° vertically, allowing for direct flash, bounce flash, and other creative lighting techniques.

7. Wireless X System (Transmitter/Receiver)
The V860III-N features a built-in Godox 2.4G wireless X system, enabling it to function as both a transmitter and a receiver. This allows for seamless integration with other Godox X system triggers (e.g., X1, X2) and flashes.
- Setting as Transmitter: Access the wireless settings via the menu. Set the flash to Transmitter mode (Tx) and configure the channel (CH) and ID to match your receiver units.
- Setting as Receiver: Access the wireless settings via the menu. Set the flash to Receiver mode (Rx) and configure the channel (CH) and ID to match your transmitter unit.

8. High-Speed Sync (HSS), Rear-Curtain Sync, S1/S2 Modes
Press the "SYNC" button to activate High-Speed Sync (up to 1/8000s) or Rear-Curtain Sync mode. In Manual mode, press the "S1/S2" button to select S1 or S2 optical slave flash modes.

Custom Functions (C.Fn)
Access the custom function menu by pressing the "MENU" button. Use the dial to navigate and select options.
- Distance Indicator (m/ft): Switch between meters and feet.
- AF Assist Beam (AF): Turn the autofocus assist beam on or off.
- Auto Sleep (STBY): Enable or disable auto-sleep mode.
- Receiver Unit Auto Power-Off Timer (RX STBY): Set the auto power-off timer for receiver units (60 minutes/30 minutes).
- Scan Free Channel (SCAN): Initiate a scan for available wireless channels.
- ID: Turn the wireless ID function on or off.
- Beeper (BEEP): Turn the beeper sound on or off.
- Backlight Time (LIGHT): Adjust the LCD backlight duration (12 seconds/off/on).
- LCD Contrast (LCD): Adjust the contrast of the LCD panel (from -3 to 3).
- FEB ACL: Flash Exposure Bracketing Auto Clear.
