ACECAR APX Heads Up Display Digital Speedometer User Manual

Model: APX

1. Introduction

The ACECAR APX Heads Up Display (HUD) Digital Speedometer is an advanced automotive accessory designed to enhance driving safety and convenience by projecting vital vehicle information directly into the driver's line of sight. This device features a dual-mode system, supporting both OBD2 and GPS connectivity, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of vehicles.

The OBD2 mode is primarily for vehicles manufactured after 2008 and provides comprehensive data directly from the vehicle's ECU. For vehicles not compatible with OBD2, or for universal use, the GPS mode offers accurate speed and other GPS-derived data. The APX HUD also includes advanced features such as a tachometer with an analog display, fault code clearing, and multiple alarm functions for critical vehicle parameters.

2.2 Installation Steps

  1. Placement: Choose a suitable location on your dashboard or windshield that does not obstruct your view of the road.
  2. Mounting: Attach the adjustable bracket to the HUD unit and secure it in your chosen location.
  3. Connection (OBD2 Mode): Locate your vehicle's OBD2 port (typically under the dashboard on the driver's side). Connect the provided OBD cable to the HUD unit and then to the vehicle's OBD2 port.
  4. Cable Management: Use the crowbar to carefully tuck and hide the OBD cable along the vehicle's interior trim, such as the A-pillar, for a neat and secure installation.
  5. Power On: Once connected, the HUD unit should power on automatically when the vehicle's ignition is turned on.

Important Note:

  • OBD2 mode is compatible with vehicles produced after 2008.
  • If the speedometer displays only voltage after powering on, it indicates that your car is not compatible with OBD mode. In this case, please switch the device to GPS mode.
  • OBDII mode is not compatible with hybrid electric vehicles, diesel cars, pickup trucks, RVs, or computer-modified cars.
