3.2 Power Connection

1. Ensure the RC-505mkII is powered off.
2. Connect the included AC adaptor to the DC IN jack on the rear panel.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Looping

The RC-505mkII allows for recording, playing, and overdubbing on five independent stereo phrase tracks.

1. Select a Track: Use the TRACK buttons (1-5) to select the desired track.
2. Record: Press the REC/PLAY button for the selected track to start recording. The button will illuminate red.
3. Play/Overdub: Press the REC/PLAY button again to stop recording and start playback. The button will illuminate green. To overdub, press the REC/PLAY button during playback; the button will illuminate orange.
4. Stop: Press the STOP button for the selected track to stop playback.
5. All Start/Stop: Press the ALL START/STOP button to simultaneously start or stop all active tracks.

4.2 Using Effects (Input FX and Track FX)

The RC-505mkII features a comprehensive effects engine with Input FX (applied to incoming audio before recording) and Track FX (applied to recorded loops).

1. Select FX Type: Use the INPUT FX or TRACK FX section's EDIT button to access effect parameters. Turn the VALUE knob to select an effect type.
2. Adjust Parameters: Use the dedicated knobs (e.g., INPUT FX knob, TRACK FX knob) to adjust effect parameters.
3. Activate/Deactivate FX: Use the FX buttons (A, B, C, D) in each section to toggle individual effects on or off.

The RC-505mkII can store 99 Memories, each containing all loop data, effect settings, and control assignments.

• Select Memory: Use the MEMORY/VALUE knob to navigate and select a Memory.
• Save Memory: Press the WRITE button to save current settings to a Memory. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm.
• Load Memory: Select a Memory and press the ENTER button to load it.

4.4 Rhythm Function and Tap Tempo

The built-in rhythm guide assists with timing during recording and playback.

• Rhythm Start/Stop: Press the RHYTHM START/STOP button to toggle the rhythm guide on or off.
• Tap Tempo: Repeatedly press the TAP TEMPO button at your desired tempo to set the master tempo for all tracks and the rhythm guide.

4.5 Mark Back Function

The Mark Back function provides an enhanced undo/redo capability, allowing you to revert to previous states of your loops.

• Press the UNDO/REDO button to undo the last recording or overdub. Press it again to redo.
• The Mark Back function allows for more granular control over undo/redo operations, which can be configured in the system settings.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

• Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit.
