Setup Guide
Follow these steps to set up your Mopeka Pro Check Sensor:
Download the App: Download the free "Tank Check" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store on your mobile device.

Install Spacers (if needed): If your tank has a recessed bottom or uneven surface, attach the provided metal spacers to the base of your propane tank. These spacers ensure proper clearance and optimal sensor performance. Tap them gently into place with a rubber mallet if necessary.

Apply Dielectric Grease: Apply a generous amount of the provided dielectric grease to the black sonar rubber circle located on the back of the sensor. This grease is crucial for ensuring accurate readings and proper contact between the sensor and the tank.
Sync the Sensor: Press and hold the "SYNC" button on your Mopeka Pro Check Sensor for 5-10 seconds. This will awaken the sensor and allow it to pair with the "Tank Check" app. Open the app and select "New LPG Device" to connect.
Attach the Sensor: Magnetically attach the sensor to the base of your propane tank. Ensure it is centered and flat against the tank bottom for the most accurate reading. The app's "Sensor Position" and "Bubble-Level" functions can assist with alignment.
Configure Tank Size: In the "Tank Check" app, input your tank size from the dropdown menu. For custom tanks or sizes not listed, use the "Arbitrary" selection and enter your tank's exact specifications (gallons/pounds and diameter).
Confirm Placement: After attaching the sensor, open the app and navigate to the "Sensor Position" section. The app will provide a visual guide to help you confirm that the sensor is positioned correctly and flat on the tank bottom. Adjust as needed until the app indicates optimal alignment.
Operating Instructions
Once your Mopeka Pro Check Sensor is set up, monitoring your tank levels is simple:
Real-time Monitoring: Open the "Tank Check" app on your smartphone or tablet to view the current propane level. The app provides real-time updates, allowing you to know exactly how much fuel remains.

Figure 5: Monitor your propane levels conveniently from your mobile device.
Customizable Alarms: Set programmable alarms within the app to receive notifications when your tank level drops below a certain threshold, ensuring you never unexpectedly run out of gas.
Multiple Tanks: The "Tank Check" app supports an unlimited number of tanks and sensors, making it ideal for users with multiple propane tanks.
Remote Access (Optional): For remote monitoring beyond Bluetooth range, the Mopeka Wifi Bridge (sold separately) can be used to access your tank data from anywhere.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement: The Mopeka Pro Check Sensor uses a CR2032 coin/watch battery. The battery life is approximately 2 years, but can be extended by adjusting the update rate in the app. When the battery is low, replace it promptly to ensure continuous operation.

Cleaning: Periodically clean the sensor and the tank bottom where it attaches to ensure optimal contact and accurate readings. Use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Storage: If storing the sensor for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent drainage and potential damage.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Mopeka Pro Check Sensor, consider the following:
Sensor Not Syncing:
- Ensure the sensor is awake by pressing the SYNC button 5 times in a row.
- Check the battery. A dead battery is a common cause. Replace the CR2032 battery if necessary.
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device and the device is within range of the sensor.
- Try restarting the app and your mobile device.
Inaccurate Readings:
- Verify that the sensor is centered and flat on the tank bottom. Use the "Sensor Position" feature in the app to check alignment.
- Ensure sufficient dielectric grease is applied to the sonar rubber circle. A thin, even layer is crucial for good acoustic coupling.
- Check for any debris or rust on the tank bottom that might interfere with the sensor's contact.
- Confirm that the correct tank size and type are selected in the app settings.
App Issues:
- Ensure your "Tank Check" app is updated to the latest version.
- If experiencing issues with account setup or verification, check your email's spam folder for verification emails.
- For persistent app problems, try reinstalling the app.
