Setup and Connectivity

The FINGERS 2D-QuickScan WL5 offers three primary connection methods:

1. Wireless (2.4 GHz USB Receiver)

  1. Insert the provided USB Receiver into an available USB port on your computer or host device.
  2. The system will automatically detect and install the necessary drivers.
  3. Turn on the barcode scanner. It should automatically pair with the receiver.
  4. A successful connection is indicated by a specific LED light and/or beep from the scanner.

2. Bluetooth Connection

  1. Ensure your host device (mobile phone, tablet, laptop) has Bluetooth enabled.
  2. Put the scanner into Bluetooth pairing mode (refer to the Quick Start Guide for specific button presses, typically a long press of the trigger or a dedicated Bluetooth button).
  3. On your host device, search for available Bluetooth devices and select "FINGERS 2D-QuickScan WL5" from the list.
  4. Confirm the pairing. The scanner will indicate a successful connection.
  5. The wireless Bluetooth transmission range is approximately 30-50 meters in open space.

3. Wired Connection (Type-C Cable)

  1. Connect one end of the provided USB Type-C cable to the scanner's Type-C port.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer or host device.
  3. The scanner will function as a wired device and also charge its internal battery simultaneously.

Operating Instructions

Once connected, the FINGERS 2D-QuickScan WL5 is ready for operation.

Scanning Barcodes

  1. Point the scanner's window at the barcode you wish to scan.
  2. Press and hold the trigger button. A red aiming beam will appear.
  3. Align the aiming beam across the entire barcode.
  4. Upon a successful scan, the scanner will emit a beep and/or the LED indicator will flash. The scanned data will be transmitted to your connected device.

The scanner is capable of interpreting various 1D and 2D codes, including QR codes, Data Matrix, and PDF417, among others.

Offline Storage Mode

The scanner features 4 MB of in-built memory, allowing it to store up to 512,000 characters (approximately 20,000 barcodes) in offline/inventory storage mode.
