Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning will help maintain the performance and appearance of your Cuisinart Air Fryer + Convection Toaster Oven.

  1. **Always Unplug:** Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely.
  2. **Crumb Tray:** The pull-out crumb tray should be emptied and cleaned regularly, ideally after each use, to prevent grease buildup and potential fire hazards. Wash with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
  3. **Accessories:** The oven rack, baking pan, air fry basket, and grill/griddle plate should be washed with warm, soapy water after each use. Rinse well and dry completely. While some accessories may be dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended to prolong their lifespan. The main unit is NOT dishwasher safe.
  4. **Interior:** The interior of the oven has a nonstick, easy-clean surface. Wipe down the interior walls, top, and bottom with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn food residue, use a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Avoid using metal scouring pads or harsh abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the nonstick coating.
  5. **Exterior:** Wipe the exterior of the oven with a clean, damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners or polishes that could scratch the stainless steel finish.
  6. **Heating Elements:** Do not attempt to clean the heating elements. Any food that comes into contact with them will burn off naturally.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your Cuisinart Air Fryer + Convection Toaster Oven, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Appliance does not turn on. Not plugged in; power outlet malfunction; timer not set. Ensure the unit is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check if the timer dial is set to the desired cooking time or "ON".
Food is not cooking evenly. Overcrowding the basket/pan; incorrect temperature/time; food not flipped/shaken. Do not overcrowd the air fry basket or baking pan. Ensure proper temperature and time settings. For air frying, shake or flip food halfway through cooking.
Excessive smoke during cooking. Grease buildup; high-fat food; crumb tray not cleaned. Clean the crumb tray and interior regularly. For high-fat foods, use the baking pan below the air fry basket to catch drips. Reduce temperature if smoke persists.
Toast is too light or too dark. Toast shade selector set incorrectly. Adjust the ON/TOAST TIMER dial to a lighter or darker setting as needed for future use.
