1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of your AWH Mini Portable Sewing Machine. Please read all instructions carefully before use and retain this manual for future reference.

The AWH Mini Portable Sewing Machine is designed for beginners, children, and sewing enthusiasts. It features 12 built-in stitch patterns, double threads, two speed settings, and can be operated via a foot pedal or button switch. 2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all accessories listed in the packing list are present. Inspect the machine for any signs of damage. If any damage is found, do not operate the machine and contact customer support.

2.2 Power Supply

Your sewing machine supports two power modes:

• AC Adapter: Connect the provided AC adapter to the machine's power input and then to a standard wall outlet.
• Batteries: For portable use, insert 4 AA batteries into the battery compartment located on the bottom of the machine. Ensure correct polarity.

2.3 Threading the Machine

Proper threading is crucial for correct stitch formation. Follow the numbered threading guides printed on the machine. Ensure the thread is seated correctly in all tension discs and guides.

2.4 Installing the Bobbin

The machine uses a drop-in bobbin system. Open the bobbin cover plate, insert the bobbin with the thread unwinding in the correct direction (usually counter-clockwise), and guide the thread through the tension spring. Close the cover plate.

2.5 Foot Pedal Connection

If using the foot pedal, connect it to the designated port on the machine. The foot pedal provides variable speed control.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Selecting Stitch Patterns

Turn the stitch selection dial to choose one of the 12 built-in stitch patterns, including straight stitches and zigzag stitches. Refer to the stitch guide on the machine for visual representation.

3.2 Adjusting Speed

The machine offers two speed settings (Low and High) controlled by a switch. Select the appropriate speed for your sewing project.

3.3 Starting and Stopping Sewing

You can start and stop sewing using either the button switch on the machine or the connected foot pedal. For beginners, the foot pedal often provides better control.

3.4 Reverse Sewing Function

To reinforce stitches at the beginning and end of a seam, use the reverse sewing function. Consult the machine's markings for the specific lever or button.

3.5 Using the LED Light and Thread Cutter

An integrated LED light illuminates the sewing area for improved visibility. After completing a seam, use the built-in thread cutter to trim excess thread.

3.6 Sewing Sleeves and Cuffs

The machine features a cuff slot on the bottom, allowing for easy sewing of cylindrical items like sleeves or pant hems.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your sewing machine.

• Cleaning: Regularly clean the bobbin area and feed dogs with a small brush to remove lint and thread residue.
• Needle Replacement: Replace the needle frequently, especially when sewing different fabric types or if it becomes bent or dull. A dull needle can cause skipped stitches or fabric damage.
• Oiling: Refer to the user manual for specific oiling points and frequency. Use only sewing machine oil.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your sewing machine, try the following common troubleshooting steps:

• Skipped Stitches: Check if the needle is inserted correctly, is not bent, and is the appropriate type for your fabric. Re-thread the machine completely.
• Thread Breakage: Ensure the thread is not tangled, the tension is correctly set, and the needle is not damaged.
• Jammed Machine: Turn off the machine immediately. Remove the bobbin case and needle plate to clear any jammed threads.
• Uneven Stitches: Adjust the thread tension dials. Ensure both upper and bobbin threads are correctly installed and tensioned.
