Important Usage Considerations
While Kastar Q120 batteries are designed for compatibility, it is crucial to monitor their performance, especially during extended use. Some users have reported that these batteries can generate more heat than original equipment manufacturer (OEM) batteries in certain devices, potentially leading to device shutdown or other issues. If you experience excessive heat or unexpected device behavior, discontinue use immediately and consider using OEM batteries for your specific device model.
Maintenance
- Storage: Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid storing fully charged or completely depleted batteries for long periods. A charge level of approximately 50% is ideal for long-term storage.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the battery contacts and charger pins with a dry, soft cloth to ensure optimal connection and prevent corrosion.
- Disposal: Lithium-Ion batteries should be disposed of responsibly. Do not dispose of them in household waste. Consult your local regulations for proper battery recycling and disposal options.
- Charger Care: Keep the charger clean and free from dust. Avoid dropping the charger or exposing it to moisture.
Troubleshooting
- Battery not charging:
- Ensure the charger is properly connected to a working power source. Check the Micro-USB or Type-C cable for damage. Verify that the batteries are correctly inserted into the charger slots and that the LED indicators respond.
- Battery not powering device:
- Confirm the battery is fully charged. Ensure the battery is correctly inserted into the device's battery compartment. Check the device's battery contacts for any obstructions or damage. Test with an OEM battery if available to rule out device issues.
- Batteries or device overheating:
- If the batteries or your device become excessively hot during use, immediately power off the device and remove the battery. Allow components to cool down. Overheating can indicate incompatibility or a faulty battery. Discontinue use of the Kastar battery if overheating persists and consider using an OEM battery.
- Charger LED indicators not working:
- Check the power connection and cable. Try a different power source or cable. If the issue persists, the charger may be faulty.
