Operating Instructions

Taking Photos and Videos

Once paired and your camera app is open, you can use the remote control to capture images or start/stop video recording. The remote features two distinct buttons:

Simply push the appropriate button on the Bluetooth remote to trigger your device's camera shutter. For Instagram and Snapchat, a long press can initiate video recording, while a short press captures a photo.

The remote offers an operational distance of up to 50 feet (15 meters), providing flexibility for various shooting scenarios, including large group photos where you can be part of the picture.

Using the Adjustable Wrist Strap

Each remote comes with an adjustable wrist strap for added convenience and to prevent accidental drops or loss. To attach the strap, thread the small loop of the strap through the designated hole on the remote control. Then, pass the larger end of the strap through the small loop and pull it tight to secure the remote. The strap can be adjusted to fit various wrist sizes.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

The remote control uses a CR2032 coin cell battery, which is included and pre-installed. When the remote's LED indicator no longer flashes or the remote fails to connect, it may be time to replace the battery. To replace, carefully open the battery slot (refer to the diagram on the remote or packaging for location) and insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.

General Care

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
Cannot take pictures with built-in camera app. Some built-in camera apps may not fully support external Bluetooth shutters. Try downloading other compatible apps such as "Camera 360" from the Apple App Store or "A Better Camera" for Android from the Google Play Store.
Video not starting/stopping on Android device, but photos work. This can be a compatibility issue with certain Android camera apps. Download "A Better Camera" for Android from the Google Play Store and use it for video recording.
Remote only adjusts phone volume after connection.Your phone's camera settings might be configured to use volume buttons as the shutter. Find the setting in your phone camera app to change this behavior, allowing photos to be taken via the volume buttons (which the remote emulates).
Remote does not pair or connect.Ensure the remote is turned ON and has a fresh battery. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and that "AB Shutter 3" appears in the list. If it doesn't appear, try turning the remote off and on again, or restarting your device's Bluetooth.
