Cooking with the Grill and Griddle:

The GD402 offers two distinct cooking zones: a porcelain-enameled cast iron gas grill and a ceramic-coated steel griddle. Each side has dedicated burners for independent temperature control.

  • Grill Side: Ideal for direct heat cooking such as searing steaks, grilling sausages, chicken, and vegetables.
  • Griddle Side: Perfect for flat-top cooking like pancakes, eggs, bacon, stir-fries, and smash burgers.

Detachable Wind Deflector:

The detachable wind deflector helps shield the cooking area from wind, ensuring more consistent heat, and also acts as a splash guard during griddle cooking. It can be removed and stored on the side hooks when not in use.

Maintenance and Care

Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your grill and ensure optimal performance.

After Each Use:

  • Cooking Surfaces: Allow the grill grates and griddle to cool. Scrape off any food residue with a grill brush or griddle scraper. For the griddle, a thin layer of cooking oil can be applied after cleaning to maintain seasoning and prevent rust.
  • Grease Tray and Cup: Empty and clean the grease cup and tray. Wash with warm, soapy water.
  • Exterior Surfaces: Wipe down exterior surfaces with a damp cloth. For stainless steel parts, use a non-abrasive cleaner.

Periodic Maintenance:

  • Burners: Periodically check burner ports for blockages (e.g., spider webs, food debris). Clean with a wire brush if necessary.
  • Gas Hoses and Connections: Inspect hoses and connections for cracks, cuts, or damage. Replace if any damage is found. Perform a leak test regularly.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the grill in a dry, protected area. Consider using a grill cover to protect it from the elements.
