Setup
Battery Installation
The dretec Digital Stopwatch comes with one CR2032 battery included. The battery is typically pre-installed, but if replacement is needed:
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the stopwatch.
- Use a small screwdriver to open the battery cover.
- Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Securely close the battery cover, ensuring the waterproof seal is intact.
Initial Power On and Time Setting
Upon first use or after battery replacement, the stopwatch may display a default time or require setting.
- Press the MODE button repeatedly until the time display mode is shown.
- Press and hold the RESET button to enter time setting mode. The digits will flash.
- Use the START/STOP button to adjust the flashing digit (hours, minutes, seconds, date, month, year).
- Press the LAP/SPLIT button to move to the next digit.
- Once all settings are complete, press the RESET button again to exit setting mode.
Operating Instructions
Button Functions
- MODE: Cycles through different modes (Time, Stopwatch, Countdown, Count, Alarm).
- START/STOP: Starts and stops the timer/stopwatch; adjusts values in setting mode; toggles sound on/off in time mode.
- LAP/SPLIT: Records lap/split times; moves to next digit in setting mode; toggles backlight on/off in time mode.
- RESET: Resets the stopwatch/timer; enters/exits setting mode.
- RECALL: Recalls stored lap/split times.
Stopwatch Mode
- Press MODE until "STOP" or stopwatch icon is displayed.
- Press START/STOP to begin timing.
- Press LAP/SPLIT to record a lap or split time. The display will show the split time, lap time, and total running time simultaneously.
- Press START/STOP again to pause the timing.
- Press START/STOP to resume, or RESET to clear the stopwatch.

Recalling Lap/Split Times
While in Stopwatch mode (or after stopping), press the RECALL button to view stored lap and split times. Use the LAP/SPLIT and START/STOP buttons to navigate through the recorded data.
Countdown Timer Mode
- Press MODE until the countdown timer icon is displayed.
- Press and hold RESET to set the desired countdown time. Use START/STOP to adjust and LAP/SPLIT to move between digits.
- Press RESET to confirm the setting.
- Press START/STOP to begin the countdown.
- An alarm will sound when the countdown reaches zero.
Count Mode
This mode allows for simple counting. Press MODE to navigate to the Count mode. Use START/STOP to increment the count and RESET to clear it.
Alarm Setting
- Press MODE until the alarm icon is displayed.
- Press and hold RESET to enter alarm setting mode.
- Adjust the alarm time using START/STOP and LAP/SPLIT.
- Press RESET to confirm.
- To toggle the alarm on/off, press START/STOP while in Alarm mode (not setting mode).
Backlight Function
To activate the backlight, press the LAP/SPLIT button while in Time mode. The backlight will illuminate the display for improved visibility in dark conditions.
Mute Function
To mute or unmute the button operation sounds, press the START/STOP button while in Time mode. An icon on the display will indicate the sound status.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the stopwatch with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Water Resistance: While waterproof (IPX7), avoid prolonged submersion or operating buttons underwater to maintain seal integrity. Ensure the battery cover is securely fastened.
- Storage: Store the stopwatch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the CR2032 battery when the display becomes dim or erratic. Dispose of used batteries responsibly.
