1. Product Overview

The Peektook 6-inch cordless electric mini chainsaw is designed for light-duty cutting tasks such as trimming shrubs, branches, and small logging. Its compact and lightweight design allows for one-handed operation.

2. General Safety Information

WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

2.1 Personal Safety

• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and sturdy footwear.
• Keep children and bystanders away while operating the chainsaw.
• Do not operate the chainsaw when you are tired, under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
• Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to a battery pack, picking up, or carrying the tool.

2.2 Electrical Safety

• Use only the charger specified by the manufacturer for the battery pack.
• Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

2.3 Chainsaw Use and Care

• Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application.
• Disconnect the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
• Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
• Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation.

3. Setup

3.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the chainsaw and accessories for any signs of damage. Ensure all listed kit contents are present.

3.2 Battery Charging and Installation

Before first use, fully charge the battery. The battery features a power indicator to show the charge level.

1. Connect the charger to a power outlet and then to the battery.
2. Allow the battery to charge until the indicator shows a full charge.
3. To install the battery, align it with the battery slot at the base of the chainsaw handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.
4. To remove, press the release button on the battery and slide it out.

3.3 Chain Installation and Adjustment

The chainsaw comes with one chain pre-installed. If you need to replace or adjust the chain:

1. Ensure the battery is removed for safety.
2. Loosen the chain lock knob on the side of the chainsaw.
3. Carefully remove the side cover and the old chain.
4. Place the new chain around the guide bar, ensuring the cutting teeth are facing the correct direction.
5. Reattach the side cover and tighten the chain lock knob.
6. Adjust the chain tension by hand using the integrated adjustment mechanism. The chain should be snug but still able to move freely around the guide bar. A gap of approximately 3mm between the chain and the guide bar is ideal.

3.4 Safety Guard Adjustment

The chainsaw features a rotatable protective baffle that can be adjusted up to 100 degrees to provide protection during operation. Ensure it is in a suitable position for your cutting task while maintaining visibility.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Starting and Stopping the Chainsaw

The Peektook mini chainsaw incorporates a 3-fold safety measure to prevent accidental activation:

1. Security Lock: Press and hold the security lock button (typically located near the trigger).
2. Trigger Switch: While holding the security lock, press the main trigger switch to start the chainsaw.
3. Release the trigger switch to stop the chainsaw.

4.2 Cutting Techniques

The chainsaw is designed for efficient cutting of wood up to 6 inches in diameter. Its lightweight design allows for comfortable one-handed use.

• Always ensure a stable footing and clear work area.
• Hold the chainsaw firmly with one hand, ensuring your hand is protected by the handle guard.
• Start the chainsaw before making contact with the material.
• Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the saw through the material.
• Be aware of kickback, especially when cutting the tip of the guide bar or when the chain is pinched.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Chain Care

• Regularly check the chain for sharpness. A dull chain will reduce cutting efficiency and increase strain on the motor.
• Sharpen the chain as needed or replace it with a new one. The package includes an extra chain for convenience.
• Ensure the chain is properly tensioned before each use.

5.2 Cleaning and Storage

• After each use, remove the battery and clean the chainsaw. Use a brush to remove sawdust and debris from the chain, guide bar, and motor vents.
• Wipe down the body of the chainsaw with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
• Store the chainsaw in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children.
• Remove the battery from the chainsaw during storage to prevent accidental discharge or activation.
