Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety. If you are unsure about any step, consult a professional car audio installer.
1. Enclosure Selection and Preparation
The Audiopipe TS-PP2-15 is a component subwoofer and requires a suitable enclosure (not included) for proper operation. Consult an audio specialist or enclosure design resources for recommended sealed or ported enclosure volumes that match the subwoofer's parameters.
2. Mounting the Subwoofer
Once the enclosure is prepared with the correct cutout diameter, the subwoofer can be mounted.

Figure 1: Front view of the Audiopipe TS-PP2-15 subwoofer. This shows the polypropylene cone and rubber surround.
- Carefully place the subwoofer into the enclosure cutout, ensuring a snug fit.
- Align the mounting holes on the subwoofer frame with the pre-drilled holes on the enclosure.
- Secure the subwoofer using appropriate screws, tightening them evenly in a star pattern to ensure a uniform seal and prevent warping of the frame. Do not overtighten.
The mounting depth required for this subwoofer is 6-3/4 inches (171mm).
3. Wiring Connections
The TS-PP2-15 subwoofer has a single 4 Ohm impedance. Proper wiring to your amplifier is critical.

- Identify the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on the subwoofer.
- Connect the positive (+) output from your amplifier to the positive (+) terminal on the subwoofer.
- Connect the negative (-) output from your amplifier to the negative (-) terminal on the subwoofer.
- Ensure all connections are secure and free from frayed wires that could cause short circuits.
Refer to your amplifier's manual for specific wiring configurations, especially if connecting multiple subwoofers or using a multi-channel amplifier.

Operating Instructions
Once the subwoofer is properly installed and connected to an appropriate amplifier, follow these steps for initial operation:
- Initial Power-Up: With your vehicle's audio system off, connect the battery. Turn on your head unit and amplifier.
- Amplifier Settings: Begin with the amplifier's gain control set to its minimum (lowest) position. Set the low-pass filter (LPF) on your amplifier to an appropriate frequency, typically between 80Hz and 120Hz, to ensure the subwoofer only reproduces low frequencies.
- Volume Adjustment: Start playing audio at a low volume. Gradually increase the amplifier's gain control until the subwoofer blends smoothly with your other speakers without distortion. Avoid setting the gain too high, as this can lead to clipping and damage to the subwoofer.
- Break-in Period: Allow for a break-in period of approximately 10-20 hours of normal listening before operating the subwoofer at maximum volume. This allows the suspension components to loosen and perform optimally.
The TS-PP2-15 has a frequency response range of 25Hz to 1000Hz and a sensitivity of 88dB, providing a wide range of deep bass reproduction.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and performance of your subwoofer:
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the cone and surround with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Connection Check: Annually inspect all wiring connections for tightness and corrosion. Re-tighten if necessary.
- Visual Inspection: Check the subwoofer's cone and surround for any signs of damage, tears, or deterioration.
- Environmental Factors: Avoid exposing the subwoofer to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for extended periods, as this can degrade materials.
