4. Operating Instructions

Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle's ignition is turned on. It will power off automatically when the ignition is turned off. You can also manually power it on/off by pressing and holding the power button.
  • Menu Navigation: Use the menu buttons (usually labeled 'M' or with arrows) to navigate through the settings. The 'OK' button confirms selections.
  • Screen Display: The 2.45-inch LCD screen displays real-time footage from both cameras. You can switch between front-only, interior-only, or dual-view display modes via the settings.

Recording Modes and Features

Loop Recording

The dash cam records video in continuous loops (e.g., 1, 3, or 5-minute segments). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked video files are automatically overwritten by new recordings. This ensures that you never run out of storage space for new footage.

G-Sensor (Emergency Lock)

The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When an event is detected, the current video segment is automatically locked and saved to a protected folder (EMR file) on the SD card, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. You can adjust the G-sensor sensitivity (Low, Medium, High) in the settings. It is recommended to set it to 'Low' to prevent frequent locking due to minor bumps.

Parking Monitor

When enabled, the Parking Monitor feature allows the dash cam to automatically start recording a short video if it detects a bump or vibration while your car is parked and the engine is off. This video is then saved and locked as evidence. For continuous 24/7 monitoring, the dash cam requires a constant power supply, either from an external battery pack or a hardwire kit (not included).

5. Maintenance

SD Card Management

  • Formatting: It is recommended to format the Micro SD card regularly (e.g., once a month) to ensure stable recording performance and prevent data corruption. You can format the card through the dash cam's menu settings.
  • Card Lifespan: Frequent overwriting can reduce the lifespan of an SD card. If you experience recording errors, try formatting the card or replacing it with a new one.

Cleaning

  • Lens Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the camera lenses. Avoid using abrasive materials or chemical cleaners that could scratch the lens.
  • Device Body: Wipe the body of the dash cam with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth. Do not use excessive moisture.
