4.1 Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Install Battery: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio. Insert the supplied Li-ion battery pack, ensuring correct polarity. Alternatively, insert 3 AA batteries. Close the battery cover securely.
  2. Charging via Dock Charger: Place the walkie talkie into the provided dock charger. Connect the micro-USB charging cable to the dock charger and then to a USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, computer, car charger). The charging indicator light will show charging status.
  3. Charging via Micro-USB Cable: Connect the micro-USB charging cable directly to the Micro-USB Charging Port on the side of the walkie talkie and then to a USB power source.

4.2 Pairing Wireless Earpiece

The T82 comes with a wireless earpiece for hands-free communication. The earpiece has a working range of up to 10-15 meters from the walkie talkie and a working time of 5-8 hours.

  1. Turn on Earpiece: Power on the wireless earpiece. It should enter pairing mode automatically (often indicated by a flashing LED).
  2. Activate Bluetooth on Radio: Press the "Easy Pairing/Bluetooth" button on the walkie talkie. The radio will search for nearby Bluetooth devices.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment

  • Power On: Rotate the Power/Volume Knob clockwise until you hear a click. The display will light up.
  • Power Off: Rotate the Power/Volume Knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click. The display will turn off.
  • Volume Adjustment: Rotate the Power/Volume Knob clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume.

5.2 Channel Selection

The T82 has 16 PMR446 channels. To communicate with another walkie talkie, both devices must be on the same channel and privacy code (CTCSS/DCS).

  • Use the Up/Down arrow buttons to select your desired channel.
  • The selected channel number will be displayed on the screen.

5.3 Transmitting and Receiving

  • To Transmit: Press and hold the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button. Speak clearly into the microphone, holding the radio approximately 5-10 cm from your mouth. Release the PTT button when you finish speaking.
  • To Receive: Ensure the PTT button is not pressed. The radio will automatically receive transmissions on the selected channel.
