4. Setup

4.1 Setting the Combination Lock

Your tectake® luggage comes with a pre-set combination lock, usually set to 0-0-0. To set your personal combination:

1. Ensure the lock is set to the current combination (factory default is 0-0-0).
2. Locate the small reset button or lever on the lock. This is usually a small, recessed button that requires a pen or pointed object to press.
3. Press and hold the reset button/lever.
4. While holding the reset button/lever, rotate the dials to your desired 3-digit combination. Choose a memorable number.
5. Release the reset button/lever. Your new combination is now set.
6. Test your new combination by scrambling the numbers and then entering your new code to open the lock.

Important: Do not forget your combination. There is no master key or override function.

4.2 Wheel Assembly (If Applicable)

Some models may feature removable wheels for compact storage or replacement. If your wheels are not pre-attached:

1. Identify the wheel units and their corresponding slots on the bottom of the suitcase.
2. Align the wheel stem with the slot and push firmly until you hear a click, indicating it is securely locked in place.
3. To remove, locate the release button or lever near the wheel base and press it while pulling the wheel out.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Extending the Telescopic Handle

To extend the telescopic handle, press the button located on the top of the handle grip and pull the handle upwards. Release the button at your desired height. To retract, press the button again and push the handle downwards until it is fully nested.

5.2 Using the 360-Degree Spinner Wheels

The 360-degree spinner wheels allow for effortless movement in any direction. For optimal performance, push the suitcase upright on all four wheels. This reduces strain on your arm and allows the suitcase to glide smoothly alongside you.

5.3 Utilizing Interior Features

• Cross Straps: Use the adjustable cross straps to secure your clothing and prevent shifting during transit.
• Mesh Pocket: The zippered mesh pocket is ideal for storing smaller items, toiletries, or documents, keeping them separate and easily accessible.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Exterior

To clean the ABS hard shell, wipe with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the surface. Dry thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.

6.2 Wheel and Zipper Care

• Wheels: Periodically check wheels for debris (hair, lint, dirt) and remove them to ensure smooth rolling. If wheels become stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the axle.
• Zippers: Keep zippers clean and free of dirt. If a zipper becomes stiff, apply a small amount of zipper lubricant or a graphite pencil lead along the teeth.

6.3 Storage

Store your luggage set in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For the nested set, ensure the smaller suitcases are properly placed inside the larger ones to prevent damage.

7. Troubleshooting

• Combination Lock Not Opening:

  Double-check that you are entering the correct combination. Ensure each number is precisely aligned in the center of the window. If you forgot your combination, unfortunately, there is no way to reset it without knowing the original code. You may need to contact a locksmith or the manufacturer for assistance.
• Telescopic Handle Sticking:

  Ensure no items inside the suitcase are obstructing the handle mechanism. Gently pull and push the handle while pressing the release button. Avoid forcing the handle.

• Wheels Not Rolling Smoothly:

  Inspect the wheels for any trapped debris (hair, lint, dirt) and remove it. Clean the wheel housing. If the issue persists, apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the wheel axles.

• Zippers Catching:

  Ensure the fabric lining is not caught in the zipper teeth. Gently pull the fabric away. Apply a zipper lubricant or rub a graphite pencil along the teeth to smooth operation.
