1. Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your Everflo 12V On-Demand Diaphragm Sprayer Pump, Model EF1000-AMZ. Please read this manual thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.
The Everflo EF1000-AMZ is a 12V on-demand diaphragm pump designed for various fluid transfer applications. Key features include a Honeywell Micro Switch, durable Viton valves, Santoprene diaphragm, and a fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene pump manifold with 3/8-inch hose barb connections. It is capable of self-priming up to 4 feet and can run dry without damage. The pump incorporates a unique pressure switch for reduced wear and an automatic power switch to conserve battery power.
2. Safety Information
Electrical Safety: Ensure the pump is connected to a 12V DC power source. Do not exceed 12V. Disconnect power before performing any maintenance or installation.
Fluid Compatibility: This pump is designed to handle fluids up to 140°F (60°C). Verify fluid compatibility with pump materials (Viton, Santoprene, Polypropylene) before use.
Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and gloves when handling chemicals or operating the pump.
Ventilation: Operate the pump in a well-ventilated area, especially when handling volatile liquids.
Mounting: Securely mount the pump using its standard mounting pattern to prevent movement during operation.
Hose Connections: Ensure all hose connections are tight and leak-free using the provided worm gear hose clamps.
3. Product Overview
The Everflo EF1000-AMZ pump is a compact and efficient solution for various spraying and fluid transfer needs. It features a robust design for reliability and ease of use.

4. Setup and Installation
Unpacking: Carefully remove the pump and all accessories from the packaging. Verify that all components are present, including the pump and two worm gear hose clamps.
Mounting: Select a suitable, stable location for the pump. The pump features a standard mounting pattern with rubber feet to reduce vibration. Secure the pump using appropriate fasteners (not included) through the mounting holes.

Hose Connections:
Connect the inlet hose (from the fluid source) to one of the 3/8-inch hose barb ports on the pump head.
Connect the outlet hose (to the sprayer nozzle or application point) to the other 3/8-inch hose barb port.
Use the provided worm gear hose clamps to ensure a tight, leak-free seal on both connections. Tighten securely but do not overtighten.
Electrical Connection:
Connect the pump's 12V electrical leads to a compatible 12V DC power source (e.g., a battery). The pump includes an inline fuse for electrical protection.
Ensure correct polarity: red wire to positive (+), black wire to negative (-).
The pump has a maximum current draw of 4.0 Amps.
5. Operating Instructions
Priming the Pump: The Everflo EF1000-AMZ is self-priming up to 4 feet. Ensure the inlet hose is submerged in the fluid source. Turn on the 12V power supply. The pump will begin to draw fluid and expel air. Allow it to run until a steady stream of fluid is observed from the outlet.
On-Demand Operation: This is an on-demand pump. It will run when there is a demand for fluid (e.g., when a spray nozzle is opened) and automatically shut off when the demand ceases (e.g., when the nozzle is closed), thanks to its integrated pressure switch. This feature helps conserve battery power and reduces wear.
Fluid Temperature: Do not pump fluids exceeding 140°F (60°C).
Running Dry: The pump is designed to run dry without sustaining damage, but prolonged dry running should be avoided to prevent unnecessary wear.
Applications: This pump is suitable for agricultural spraying (spot or broadcast), de-icing (salt brine), mobile pressure washing systems, and general water transferring.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Everflo pump.
Cleaning: After each use, especially when pumping chemicals, flush the pump and hoses with clean water to prevent residue buildup and corrosion. This is crucial for extending the life of the pump's internal components.
Filter Inspection: If an inlet filter is used (recommended, but not included with pump), regularly inspect and clean it to prevent blockages and maintain flow rate.
Hose and Clamp Inspection: Periodically check all hoses for cracks or leaks and ensure hose clamps remain tight.
Storage: When storing the pump for extended periods, especially in freezing conditions, ensure all fluid is drained from the pump and hoses. Store in a dry, protected area.
Winterization: For cold weather storage, consider running RV antifreeze through the pump to prevent freezing and damage.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not run | No power, loose electrical connection, blown fuse, faulty switch. | Check 12V power source. Verify electrical connections. Inspect and replace inline fuse if blown. Test power switch. |
| Pump runs but no fluid flows | Inlet hose not submerged, air leak in inlet line, clogged inlet filter, pump not primed, faulty check valve. | Ensure inlet hose is in fluid. Check all inlet connections for leaks. Clean or replace inlet filter. Allow pump to self-prime. Contact support if check valve is suspected. |
| Low flow or pressure | Partially clogged filter, restricted hose, low voltage, worn pump head. | Clean filter. Check hoses for kinks or blockages. Verify 12V power supply. Inspect pump head for wear (if applicable, contact support). |
| Pump cycles on and off rapidly | Air in system, small leak in outlet line, restricted outlet, faulty pressure switch. | Bleed air from system. Check outlet connections for leaks. Ensure outlet is not blocked. Contact support if pressure switch is faulty. |
| Leaks from pump head | Loose screws, damaged diaphragm or valves. | Check and tighten pump head screws. If leaks persist, internal components may be damaged; contact support. |
