5. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for safe and proper installation of your Adviti RIOLIT luminaire.
- Choose Installation Location: Select a suitable outdoor location, ideally between 1.8 and 2.5 meters high, where the motion sensor will have an unobstructed view of the desired detection area. Avoid locations near heat sources or reflective surfaces that could interfere with the sensor.
- Disconnect Power: Before starting any electrical work, ensure the main power supply to the installation area is turned off at the circuit breaker.
- Prepare Mounting Surface: Mark the drilling points on the wall using the luminaire's mounting base as a template. Drill holes and insert the provided wall plugs.
- Wire Connection: Open the wiring compartment on the back of the luminaire. Connect the live (L), neutral (N), and ground (PE) wires from your electrical supply to the corresponding terminals inside the luminaire. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
- Mount the Luminaire: Secure the luminaire's mounting base to the wall using the provided screws. Ensure the luminaire is firmly attached.
- Close Wiring Compartment: Carefully close the wiring compartment, ensuring no wires are pinched.
- Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all connections are secure, restore power at the main circuit breaker.

6. Operating Instructions and Sensor Adjustment
The Adviti RIOLIT luminaire features an integrated PIR motion sensor with adjustable settings for optimal performance.

Figure 6.1: Side view of the luminaire, showing the location of the motion sensor and adjustment controls.
6.1. Sensor Adjustment Dials
The motion sensor has two adjustable dials, typically located near the sensor itself. These dials control the LUX (light sensitivity) and TIME (lighting duration) settings.
- LUX (Light Sensitivity) Adjustment: This dial determines the ambient light level at which the sensor will activate the luminaire.
- Turn the dial towards the 'sun' symbol for activation during both day and night (high ambient light sensitivity).
- Turn the dial towards the 'moon' symbol for activation only in low light conditions or darkness (low ambient light sensitivity).
- The adjustable range is <3—2000lux.
- TIME (Lighting Duration) Adjustment: This dial sets how long the light remains on after motion is detected and no further motion is sensed.
- Turn the dial to set the desired duration.
- The adjustable range is from a minimum of 10 seconds (± 3 seconds) to a maximum of 5 minutes (± 1 minute).
- SENS (Detection Range Sensitivity): This model does not feature an adjustable SENS dial. The detection range is fixed at 9 meters with a 140° viewing angle.
Testing the Sensor: After adjusting the dials, test the luminaire's operation by walking through the detection area. Make further adjustments as needed to achieve desired performance.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Adviti RIOLIT luminaire.
- Cleaning: Clean the luminaire periodically with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish or the polycarbonate diffuser.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the luminaire for any signs of damage to the casing, diffuser, or wiring. If any damage is found, disconnect power immediately and have it inspected by a qualified electrician.
- LED Light Source: The integrated LED light source is designed for a long lifespan and is not user-replaceable. Do not attempt to open the sealed LED compartment.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your luminaire, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Light does not turn on:
- Check if the power supply is connected and active.
- Verify the LUX setting. If set to 'moon' (low sensitivity) and there is still ambient light, the sensor may not activate. Adjust towards 'sun' for testing.
- Ensure the motion sensor is not obstructed.
- Confirm that motion is occurring within the detection range.
- Light stays on continuously:
- Check the TIME setting. If set to maximum, the light will stay on longer.
- Ensure there is no continuous motion within the sensor's detection area (e.g., swaying branches, passing vehicles).
- Verify that the LUX setting is not set to activate during daylight hours if continuous illumination is not desired.
- Sensor does not detect motion reliably:
- Ensure the installation height is within the recommended 1.8-2.5 meters.
- Check for obstructions in the sensor's field of view.
- Extreme temperature changes can sometimes affect PIR sensor performance.
- Light flickers:
- Check for loose wiring connections. Disconnect power before checking.
- Ensure the power supply is stable.
