Setup
Powering the Unit:
The boombox can be powered by either AC power or batteries.
AC Power:
- Ensure the unit is turned off.
- Connect the supplied AC/DC adaptor to the DC IN jack on the unit.
- Plug the AC/DC adaptor into a standard AC wall outlet (120V ~ 60Hz).
Battery Power:
- Ensure the unit is turned off and disconnected from AC power.
- Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the unit.
- Insert 6 x "C" size batteries (not included) into the compartment, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Operating Instructions
General Operation:
- Power On/Off: Press the POWER button to turn the unit on or off.
- Function Selection: Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to cycle through modes: CD, Bluetooth, FM, AM, Tape, AUX.
- Volume Control: Rotate the VOLUME knob to adjust the sound level.
CD Player Operation:
- Press the FUNCTION button to select CD mode.
- Open the CD compartment lid located on top of the unit.
- Place a CD (or CD-R/RW, CD MP3 disc) with the label side facing up onto the spindle.
- Close the CD compartment lid. The disc will begin to play automatically.
- Play/Pause: Press the PLAY/PAUSE button.
- Stop: Press the STOP button.
- Skip Track: Press the SKIP FORWARD or SKIP BACKWARD buttons to navigate tracks.
Cassette Player/Recorder Operation:
- Press the FUNCTION button to select TAPE mode.
- Press the STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette compartment.
- Insert a cassette tape with the open edge facing forward.
- Close the cassette compartment.
- Play: Press the PLAY button.
- Fast Forward/Rewind: Press the FWD or REW buttons.
- Record: To record, select the desired source (Radio, CD, AUX, Bluetooth, or Microphone) and then press the RECORD button on the cassette deck. Ensure a blank tape is inserted.
- Stop/Eject: Press the STOP/EJECT button.
AM/FM Radio Operation:
- Press the FUNCTION button to select FM or AM mode.
- Extend the telescopic antenna for FM reception. For AM, rotate the unit for best reception.
- Use the TUNING knob to manually tune to your desired radio station.
- The PLL radio allows for precise tuning.
Bluetooth Operation:
- Press the FUNCTION button to select Bluetooth mode. The LCD display will show "BT" and flash, indicating pairing mode.
- Enable Bluetooth on your external device (e.g., smartphone, tablet).
- Search for "SB2150" in your device's Bluetooth list and select it to pair.
- Once paired, the "BT" indicator will stop flashing and remain solid. You can now stream audio wirelessly to the boombox.
- Control playback (play/pause, skip) from your connected device or using the boombox's controls if supported.
AUX-IN Operation:
- Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the AUX-IN jack on the boombox.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your external audio device.
- Press the FUNCTION button to select AUX mode.
- Play audio from your external device. The sound will be output through the boombox speakers.
Headphone Use:
To listen privately, plug a pair of headphones (not included) into the HEADPHONE jack. The speakers will automatically mute.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit:
- Always unplug the unit from the power source before cleaning.
- Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- For the CD lens, use a specialized CD lens cleaner disc.
- For the cassette deck, periodically clean the tape heads and pinch rollers with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
Battery Care:
- Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
- Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
