Setup and Installation

- Positioning the System: Place the filter system on a firm, level surface, preferably concrete, as close to the pool as possible. Ensure it is at least 10 feet from the pool edge and protected from direct sunlight and harsh weather.
- Assemble the Base: Secure the pump and filter tank to the provided base according to the diagrams.
- Install the Cartridge Element: Carefully insert the filter cartridge element into the filter tank. Ensure it is seated correctly.
- Secure the Tank Lid: Place the lid on the filter tank and engage the ring and latch locking system. Tighten until firm to ensure an airtight seal.
- Connect Hoses: Attach the two 1.5-inch connection hoses between the pump and the filter tank, and from the filter tank to your pool's return line. Use the provided adapters as needed. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
- Electrical Connection: Connect the pump's power cord to a GFCI-protected electrical outlet. Do not plug in the pump until all water connections are complete and the system is primed.

Operating Instructions
Once the system is installed and all connections are secure, you can begin operation.
- Priming the Pump: Before starting the pump for the first time, ensure the pump basket is full of water. Open the air relief valve on top of the filter tank to allow air to escape as water fills the system. Close the valve once a steady stream of water emerges.
- Starting the Pump: Plug the pump into the GFCI-protected outlet. The pump will begin to circulate water.
- Monitoring Pressure: Observe the pressure gauge. The initial operating pressure will be your clean filter pressure. As the filter collects debris, the pressure will gradually rise.
- Run Time: Operate the filter system for a sufficient duration each day to ensure proper water circulation and filtration. The required run time depends on pool size, usage, and environmental factors.
- Shutting Down: To turn off the system, simply unplug the pump from the electrical outlet.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures efficient filtration and extends the life of your system.
- Filter Cartridge Cleaning: When the pressure gauge reads 8-10 PSI above the clean filter pressure, it's time to clean the cartridge. Turn off the pump and release all pressure using the air relief valve. Open the filter tank, remove the cartridge, and rinse it thoroughly with a garden hose. For stubborn debris, use a specialized filter cleaning solution.
- Cartridge Replacement: Over time, filter cartridges wear out and become less effective. Replace the cartridge element annually or as needed, depending on usage and water quality. The recommended replacement element for Model 76101 is 77100 (50 Microns).
- Pump Basket Cleaning: Periodically check and clean the pump's strainer basket to remove large debris that could impede flow.
- Winterization: Before freezing temperatures arrive, drain all water from the pump and filter tank. Disconnect hoses and store the system in a dry, protected area.
