4. Setup
Your APOLLO Roller Skates are designed for easy setup. Follow these steps to prepare your skates for use:
- Unboxing: Carefully remove the skates from their packaging.
- Lacing: Ensure the laces are properly threaded through all eyelets. For a secure fit, lace them tightly but comfortably.
- Size Adjustment: The skates feature an easy size adjustment mechanism. Locate the adjustment button/lever, typically at the heel or side of the boot. Press or twist the mechanism as indicated by the skate design, then slide the boot to the desired size. Ensure it clicks securely into place.

5. Operating
Once your skates are properly fitted and secured, you are ready to skate. Remember to always wear appropriate safety gear.
- Putting on Skates: Loosen the laces, slide your foot into the boot, and push your heel back firmly. Tighten the laces from the toe upwards, ensuring a snug fit around the ankle for support. Tie a secure bow.
- Standing Up: Find a stable surface or a wall to lean on. Place your feet shoulder-width apart, with one foot slightly in front of the other. Slowly push off the stable surface and find your balance.
- Basic Skating: Push off with one foot, gliding forward on the other. Alternate feet to gain momentum. Keep your knees slightly bent and your body leaning slightly forward.
- Stopping: Use the toe stop on the front of one skate. Lift the toe of that skate slightly and press the toe stop firmly onto the ground. Apply pressure gradually to slow down and stop.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will extend the life of your APOLLO Roller Skates and ensure optimal performance.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the boots with a damp cloth after each use. For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap solution. Do not submerge skates in water.
- Wheel Rotation: Rotate your wheels periodically to ensure even wear. This can be done by swapping wheels between positions (e.g., front left to back right).
- Bearing Care: Keep bearings clean and lubricated. If wheels do not spin freely, bearings may need cleaning or replacement.
- Brake Stopper: Monitor the wear of the PU brake stopper. Replace it when it becomes significantly worn to maintain effective stopping power.
- Storage: Store skates in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Wheels not spinning freely | Dirty or worn bearings; overtightened axle nuts. | Clean or replace bearings. Loosen axle nuts slightly (ensure wheels are still secure). |
| Skates feel unstable | Laces not tight enough; loose trucks. | Re-lace and tighten securely. Tighten kingpin nuts on trucks (do not overtighten). |
| Brake not effective | Worn brake stopper. | Replace the brake stopper. |
| Difficulty adjusting size | Mechanism stuck or dirty. | Clean the adjustment mechanism. Apply a small amount of silicone spray if needed. |
