  2. Open App: Launch the Jebao Aqua app and select 'Add a Wi-Fi device'.
  3. Select Device: Choose 'Wave Pump' from the device list.
  4. Enter Wi-Fi Details: Confirm your 2.4GHz network name is displayed and enter its password.
  5. Switch to AP Network: On the next screen, switch from 'Smart Network' to 'AP Network' tab.
  6. Controller AP Mode: Put the pump controller into AP Network mode by long-pressing the network button until the Wi-Fi logo flashes with the AP indicator.
  7. Connect Phone to Pump: Connect your phone to the new Wi-Fi network named 'Jebao_WiFi-XXX' (where XXX is a unique identifier) using the password '123456789'.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Jebao MCP-150 pump, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Pump Not Turning On:
    • Check all power connections to ensure they are secure.
    • Verify the power adapter is functioning correctly and the outlet has power.
    • Ensure the pump is fully submerged in water to prevent dry running protection from activating.
  • Weak or No Flow:
    • Check for blockages in the impeller or pump casing. Perform a thorough cleaning as described in the Maintenance section.
    • Ensure the flow rate setting on the controller or app is not set too low.
  • Unusual Noise:
    • A whining noise can sometimes occur. Check for any debris caught in the impeller.
    • Ensure the pump is securely mounted and not vibrating against the aquarium glass.
    • Lubricate the impeller shaft during maintenance.
  • Wi-Fi Connection Issues:
    • Confirm your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz signal. The pump does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
    • Follow the detailed Wi-Fi setup instructions in Section 3.2 carefully, especially regarding AP Network mode.
    • Ensure your mobile device is connected to the correct 2.4GHz network during setup.
  • Magnetic Base Issues:
    • While the product is designed with corrosion-resistant materials, inspect the magnetic base for any signs of rust or degradation over time, especially if using in harsh conditions.
