3. Setup Guide

This section outlines the general steps for installing your MSI MEG Z590 Unify-X motherboard and its primary components.

3.1 CPU Installation

  1. Carefully open the CPU socket retention lever.
  2. Align the CPU (Intel LGA 1200) with the socket, ensuring the golden triangle on the CPU matches the triangle on the socket.
  3. Gently place the CPU into the socket without forcing it.
  4. Close the retention lever to secure the CPU.

3.2 Memory (RAM) Installation

The MEG Z590 Unify-X features two DDR4 DIMM slots, optimized for extreme overclocking.

  1. Open the clips at both ends of the DIMM slot.
  2. Align the notch on the DDR4 memory module with the key in the DIMM slot.
  3. Press down firmly on both ends of the memory module until the clips snap into place.

3.3 M.2 SSD Installation

This motherboard supports four M.2 SSDs, with three supporting PCIe Gen4 speeds.

  1. Locate the M.2 slots and remove the M.2 Shield Frozr heatsink.
  2. Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot at an angle.
  3. Secure the M.2 SSD with the provided screw or M.2 clip.
  4. Reinstall the M.2 Shield Frozr heatsink to ensure optimal cooling.

3.4 Expansion Card Installation (PCIe)

The motherboard includes multiple PCIe slots for graphics cards and other expansion cards.
