Familiarize yourself with the main components of your SUNPOW Metal Detector:

3. Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble your metal detector:
- Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment and insert two 9V batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Attach Search Coil: Connect the search coil to the lower stem and secure it with the provided fasteners.
- Assemble Stem: Connect the lower stem to the middle stem, and then attach the middle stem to the upper stem (which includes the control box and arm rest). 4. Operating Modes
The SUNPOW Metal Detector offers 5 distinct detection modes to suit various searching needs:
- All Metal Mode: Detects all types of metal objects. This mode offers the deepest detection depth and is suitable for general searching where no discrimination is needed.
- DISC Mode (Discrimination): Allows you to eliminate unwanted metal categories (e.g., bottle caps, foil, 5¢, pull tabs, 1¢) in sequence. This helps focus on specific target metals.
- NOTCH Mode: Provides more precise discrimination, allowing you to freely ignore specific categories like foil, 5¢, pull tabs, and 1¢, effectively filtering out junk items.
- Pinpoint Mode (PP Mode): Used to accurately locate the exact position of a detected target. Once a target is found in another mode, switch to Pinpoint to narrow down its location.
- Volume Mode: Adjusts the audio output level.

5. Detection Depth and Accuracy
The SUNPOW Metal Detector is equipped with an upgraded DSP chip, enhancing its sensitivity and accuracy. In All Metal mode, it can detect objects up to 10 inches deep, which is a significant improvement over standard detectors.

6. Waterproof Features
The 10-inch search coil is IP68 waterproof, allowing for effective detection in shallow water environments such as beaches, streams, and shallow parts of the sea. This feature enhances versatility for various outdoor activities.
Important Note: The control box of the metal detector is NOT waterproof and must be kept dry at all times.
