4. Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and promotional labels from your coffee maker.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the glass carafe, carafe lid, and reusable filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth.
  3. Run a Cleaning Cycle: Fill the water reservoir to the MAX level with clean water. Place the empty filter basket with the reusable filter inside. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Press the ON/OFF button to start a brewing cycle. Allow the cycle to complete. Discard the water and repeat this process once more to ensure thorough cleaning.
  4. Placement: Place the coffee maker on a dry, level, heat-resistant surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Brewing Coffee

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the top cover and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the desired level using the water level indicator. The maximum capacity is 42oz (8-10 cups).
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the reusable cone filter into the filter basket. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one level tablespoon of ground coffee per cup (5oz). Adjust to your taste.
  3. Position Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe is placed correctly on the warming plate.
  4. Start Brewing: Close the top cover. Plug the coffee maker into a standard electrical outlet. Press the ON/OFF button. The indicator light will illuminate, and the brewing process will begin.

5.2. Using the 24-Hour Programmable Timer

The programmable timer allows you to set the coffee maker to start brewing automatically at a specific time.

  1. Set Current Time: With the coffee maker plugged in, press the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the current time.
  2. Set Auto-Brew Time: Press the PROG button. The display will show 'PROG'. Use the HOUR and MIN buttons to set your desired auto-brew time.
  3. Activate Program: After setting the time, press the PROG button again to confirm. The display will show the current time, and a small 'PROG' indicator will light up, confirming the timer is set. The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the programmed time.

5.3. Brew Pause & No-Drip Function

The unique brew pause design allows you to temporarily interrupt the brewing cycle to pour a cup of coffee before the entire carafe is brewed. Simply remove the carafe from the warming plate, and the brewing will pause. Replace the carafe within 45 seconds to resume brewing and prevent overflow.

6.1. Cleaning

6.2. Descaling

Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly (every 2-4 weeks, depending on water hardness).

  1. Prepare Solution: Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
  2. Start Cycle: Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Press the ON/OFF button to start a brewing cycle.
  3. Pause and Soak: After about half of the solution has brewed through, press the ON/OFF button to turn off the coffee maker and allow it to soak for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Complete Cycle: Press the ON/OFF button again to complete the brewing cycle. Discard the solution.
  5. Rinse Cycles: Fill the water reservoir with clean water and run several brewing cycles with only water to rinse out any remaining vinegar smell or taste.
