The EVTSCAN AS816 Digital Anemometer is a handheld device featuring a rotating vane sensor for wind speed and an integrated temperature sensor. It includes an LCD display with backlight for clear readings.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
  3. Insert three (3) 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: Batteries are not included with the device and must be purchased separately.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

5.2 Wind Speed Measurement

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Hold the anemometer so that the wind flows directly through the rotating vane sensor.
  3. The current wind speed will be displayed on the LCD.
  4. Press the Unit button to cycle through different wind speed units: meters per second (m/s), feet per minute (ft/min), knots, kilometers per hour (km/h), and miles per hour (mph).
  5. Press the Mode button to switch between current wind speed, average wind speed, and maximum wind speed readings. The display will indicate the selected mode.

When the battery level is low, a low battery indicator icon will appear on the LCD display. Replace the batteries promptly to ensure accurate readings and continuous operation.
