- Avoid Obstructions: Ensure that the alarm's vents are not blocked by dust, dirt, or other objects.
7. Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Possible Cause | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Alarm sounds and Red LED flashes | Carbon Monoxide detected | Move to fresh air immediately. Call emergency services. Do not re-enter the premises until cleared by authorities. |
| Amber LED flashes and unit chirps periodically | Low battery or End-of-Life indicator | The sealed battery is nearing depletion, or the unit has reached its 10-year operational life. Replace the detector immediately. Press the Test-Hush button to temporarily silence the chirp. |
| No response when Test/Reset button is pressed | Unit malfunction or end-of-life | Ensure the unit is properly activated. If still unresponsive, the unit may be faulty or at its end-of-life. Replace the detector. |
If the alarm continues to sound or if you suspect a malfunction, contact Kidde Customer Service or replace the unit.
