2. Important Safety Information
Read all instructions before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage, injury, or death. This smoke alarm is designed for residential use only. It is not intended for use in non-residential buildings or for special applications. Do not paint the alarm. Paint can clog the openings and interfere with the sensor's ability to detect smoke.
2.1 Placement Guidelines
For optimal protection, install smoke detectors on every level of your home, inside each bedroom, and outside each sleeping area. Ensure alarms are not placed within 6 feet of heating or cooking appliances, or in areas with high humidity like bathrooms, as this can lead to nuisance alarms. 2.2 Warnings

3. Setup and Installation

The alarm will not detect smoke in this condition. To silence the end-of-life chirps for up to 3 days, press the Test/Hush button. This feature is temporary and the unit must be replaced.
