2. Product Overview

2.1 Components

  • Objective Lens: The front lens through which the laser is emitted and received.
  • Eyepiece/Diopter Adjustment: For focusing the view to your eye.
  • Power/Measure Button: Activates the device and initiates measurements.

3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

The device is equipped with a 750mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery. Before first use, fully charge the rangefinder using the provided USB cable. Connect the USB cable to the charging port on the device and to a standard USB power source. The charging indicator will show the charging status.

3.2 Attaching the Lanyard

Attach the included lanyard to the lanyard attachment sockets on the rangefinder to prevent accidental drops and ensure easy access.

3.3 Adjusting the Eyepiece

Look through the eyepiece. If the display or target appears blurry, rotate the diopter adjustment ring (located near the eyepiece) until the view is clear and sharp for your vision.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

  • To power on, briefly press the Power/Measure Button.
  • The device will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery.

4.2 Taking a Measurement

  1. Aim the rangefinder at your target.
  2. Briefly press the Power/Measure Button. The measurement will appear on the LCD display within 0.5 seconds.

4.3 Switching Units (Meters/Yards)

Long press the Mode Button to toggle between Meters (M) and Yards (Y).

5. Modes of Operation

The TIDEWE HGR001-LF7 offers multiple measurement modes for various scenarios.

Briefly press the Mode Button to cycle through the available modes:

  • Standard Distance Mode: Measures the straight-line distance to the target.
  • Scan Mode: Long press the Power/Measure Button to continuously scan distances to multiple targets or a moving target. This provides real-time updates as you pan across an area.
  • Angle/Slope Compensation Mode: Displays the straight-line distance, horizontal distance, and angle of elevation/depression to the target. This is useful for calculating adjusted distances for uphill or downhill shots.
  • Speed Mode: Measures the speed of a moving target.

6. Charging the Battery

The TIDEWE HGR001-LF7 features a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery. A full charge can provide approximately 20,000 measurements.

  • Connect the provided USB charging cable to the rangefinder's charging port.
  • Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter).
  • The battery indicator on the display will show charging status.
  • Once fully charged, disconnect the cable.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Use a soft, clean cloth to wipe the exterior of the rangefinder.
  • For lenses, use a lens cleaning cloth and lens cleaning solution specifically designed for optics. Avoid abrasive materials.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.

7.2 Storage

  • Store the rangefinder in its protective carrying case when not in use.
  • Keep the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid storing in areas with high humidity.

8. Troubleshooting
