Your Timex DGTL Sport Watch features a digital display, chronograph, daily alarm, two time zones, 24-hour military time mode, day, date, and month calendar, and Indiglo night-light. It is designed for durability and ease of use.

Setup

Initial Power-On and Battery

Your watch comes with a Lithium Metal battery pre-installed. It should be ready for immediate use. If the display is blank, the battery may need replacement. Refer to the 'Maintenance' section for battery information.

Setting Time and Date

The watch typically has four buttons: MODE, RESET, ST/STP (Start/Stop), and INDIGLO (Light). Button functions may vary slightly depending on the specific watch configuration, but generally follow this pattern:

  1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until the time setting mode is displayed (often indicated by flashing digits).
  2. Use the ST/STP button to advance the flashing digit (hours, minutes, seconds).
  3. Use the RESET button to move to the next digit or setting (e.g., from hours to minutes, then to date, month, year).
  4. Once all settings are correct, press the MODE button to exit the setting mode and return to the normal time display.

Note: Some models may require holding a button (e.g., RESET) to enter setting mode. Consult the on-screen indicators for guidance.

Strap Adjustment

The adjustable black 14mm resin strap is designed to fit wrist circumferences up to 7.5 inches. Adjust the buckle to a comfortable and secure fit on your wrist.

  5. Press MODE to confirm and exit alarm setting.
  6. To turn the alarm on/off, press ST/STP while in Alarm mode. An alarm icon will typically appear when active.

Two Time Zones (T2)

Your watch allows you to set and view a second time zone.

  1. Navigate to the T2 mode using the MODE button.
  2. Press and hold RESET (or follow on-screen instructions) to enter T2 setting mode.
  3. Use ST/STP to adjust the flashing digits.
  4. Use RESET to move between hours and minutes.

Indiglo Night-Light

Water Resistance

This watch is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet). This rating means it is generally suitable for short periods of recreational swimming. It is not suitable for diving or snorkeling. Avoid pressing buttons underwater to prevent water ingress.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Clean your watch with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, which can damage the case or strap.

Battery Replacement

The watch uses 1 Lithium Metal battery. When the display dims or stops functioning, the battery may need replacement. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.

Water Resistance Care

To maintain water resistance, ensure the watch case back is securely closed after any service. Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature changes, which can affect seals.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch not displaying time or functions: Check if the battery needs replacement.
  • Difficulty setting time/date: Ensure you are in the correct setting mode. Refer to the 'Setting Time and Date' section. If issues persist, try resetting the watch (some models have a small recessed button for this, or it may involve holding multiple buttons).
  • Water inside the watch: Immediately take the watch to a qualified service center. Do not attempt to open it yourself.
  • Buttons not responding: Ensure no debris is lodged around the buttons. If the watch has been exposed to water, allow it to dry completely.
