Setup

  1. Unpack: Remove all components from the box.
  2. Clean: Wash the inner pot, lid, and sealing ring with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the cooker base with a damp cloth.
  3. Install Condensation Collector: Ensure the condensation collector is properly installed on the back of the cooker base.
  4. Insert Inner Pot: Place the stainless steel inner pot into the cooker base.
  5. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into the Instant Pot and then into a grounded electrical outlet. The display will show "OFF".

Operating Instructions

The Instant Pot Duo features 7-in-1 functionality and multiple smart programs for effortless cooking. Below are general instructions for common functions.

Pressure Cooking

  1. Add ingredients and liquid to the inner pot. Ensure liquid meets minimum requirements for pressure cooking (typically 1 cup).
  2. Place the lid on the cooker base, aligning the mark on the lid with the mark on the cooker base. Turn the lid clockwise until the mark on the lid aligns with the Lock mark on the cooker base.
  3. Ensure the Steam Release Handle is in the "Sealing" position.
  4. Select a Smart Program (e.g., "Meat/Stew", "Bean/Chili", "Soup") or use "Manual" (Pressure Cook).
  5. Adjust cooking time using the "+" or "-" buttons. Pressure level can be adjusted with the "Pressure Level" button.
  6. The Instant Pot will preheat and then begin pressure cooking. Once cooking is complete, it will beep and automatically switch to "Keep Warm" mode.
  7. Release pressure using Natural Release (allow pressure to dissipate naturally) or Quick Release (turn Steam Release Handle to "Venting" position, away from your face).

Sauté Function

  • Press the "Sauté" button. Use "Adjust" to cycle through Less, Normal, or More heat settings.
  • Wait for the display to show "Hot" before adding food.
  • Sauté food as desired. Press "Cancel" when finished.

Slow Cook Function

  • Add ingredients to the inner pot.
  • Place the lid on the cooker (it does not need to be sealed for slow cooking).
  • Press the "Slow Cook" button. Use "Adjust" to select Less (low), Normal (medium), or More (high) temperature.
  • Adjust cooking time using the "+" or "-" buttons.
  • The Instant Pot will begin slow cooking.
